Hey! At about 13.20, in a rush, I left my Nintendo Switch on a bench at Sydenham Station. I rushed back when I realised, but it was gone, and nothing had been handed in. Would mean a lot if you could share- having a rough time at the moment, and it brought me a lot of joy.

Sally Bayley writes fiction & non-fiction. She is a Lecturer in English @HertfordCollege. In 1990, she was the first child to go to university from the West Sussex Care system. She is completing 3 coming of age stories that challenge our understanding of literary genre. #FRSL2021

The Bashir story IS dismaying. Thank goodness we have this country’s tabloid press to offer the BBC a model of unfailing journalistic probity and transparent self-criticism.

Episode 49 – Very Annoyed mrbertblogs.co.uk/2021/03/29…
Just finished the extraordinary #NoBoysPlayHere by @SallyBayley1. Seems to me she’s invented a new form, blending gritty memoir with the fantastical, through the prism of Shakespearean drama. Humorous & heartbreaking by turn. Bravo.
‘This is how I feel when reading your books: I’m in the water & I feel supported but I can’t quite touch the ground & I feel really excited by that, & this from someone who likes concrete things; I have complete faith in your writing’ (A reader speaks) @lemnsissay @ninastibbe

I had to turn down teaching a course at the Dept of Cont Ed Creative Writing course at Oxford University because it paid £15ph for a tutorial with no prep or reading time paid in addition. I have published 7 books. I’ve taught for 26 years.

The British Library by Yinka Shonibare - this installation might give an actual librarian a nervous breakdown.
