Farewell, #uklibchat, and all the best to everyone. I hope things will get better than they’ve been recently but, whatever happens, it’s still a great profession and I’m very glad to have worked in it.

#uklibchat Q6 is Discord a thing for librarians? I know at one point there was also a Slack?? But that is already an old thing, or is it? *insert Am I Out of Touch GIF*

A7 another reason why I love Twitter chats is that fact that geographical boundaries don't exist along with travel restrictions (other than Covid-19) I get to interact with anyone anywhere in the world with regard to common ground.

A7 If anyone has a better way to interact with this style of Twitter chat than refreshing a search of the hashtag with your phone I'd love to know as that always feels clunky! #uklibchat

#uklibchat There are certain things that I would still like to see happening such as collaborations between university libraries and public libraries, and something to do with games/tech/libraries.

A7 I think all of us do, from time to time. Sometimes you just want to get an idea of what is best practice in a certain aspect of running a library or to gauge opinion on tools and equipment used in libraries. These instances call for brainstorming.

A6 But think Twitter is still a super handy way to involve a wide range of geographically dispersed people #uklibchat

A6 I think many of us look forward to a return to actually seeing people in person at events too. Some of the most useful tips/warnings aren't written down and it has been so long! #uklibchat

Both those were good, certainly, and the opportunity to exchange experiences and realise that you’re not the only one battling with a problem has been one of the most valuable features of #uklibchat.

A3 @heroicendeavour and I see 👀 each other all the time on Twitter and interact. I just enjoyed hooking up all of you once a month to get a different ( or similar) perspective on issues we all face. If I forgotten/ overlooked someone call me out !

Q3 #uklibchat and libcamp and Twitter in general all merges into one for me. Looking back early 2011s was back when it was all happening. There's that photo of the Birmingham libcamp where it seems like so many people I know are in one photo

I only found time to enjoy #libchat after I’d retired but it’s been a great way of keeping in touch with issues - and even joining in occasionally! Thanks, and all the best.

#uklibchat changed my life in so many ways. It introduced me to lovely new people who became friends as well as fellow info profs and gave me many an outlet when I needed it. So long and thank you xx
