Can you do real science with primary school children? Of course you can😃
Our comet chaser schools observed and measured newly-discovered active asteroid 248370☄️ and submitted their measurments to the Minor Planet Centre. Great work! faulkes-telescope.com/2021/0… @stmarysbridgend
That's a fantastic process of the data Dave 😊 Its a great comet for our @comet_chasers schools to observe. The @LCO_Global Global Sky Partners 0.4m network telescopes provide a wide field of view - proof that the biggest telescope isn't always best for comet observing!
While the weather seems to be against me at home, @tyseren gave me access to some very nice @comet_chasers @faulkestel comet data for C/2023 A3 to process. This is the result of an image taken last night on @LCO_Global 0.4m telescope.

Exoplanets & the Ariel Mission - Searching for signatures of life on strange worlds, this Thursday 31st Oct, 5:30pm, online 🪐🛰️🎃
Our next 'Adventures in Planetary Science' public outreach event features the following line-up of fantastic experts... 👇👇

Got to see #Comet2023A3 😁 Light polluted observing site (seafront at Barry), but with good horizon. Nothing naked eye, or even with my phone, but success with the Seestar. That also meant it was really easy to show passers-by - loads of wows 😁 @BritAstro @RAS_Outreach
#100HoursOfAstronomy is live! Check out the website/app for 4 fun challenges and some great background information too. (whispers: the weather in the UK might cooperate for once 🤫)
Log your successes on our map!
Let's get people across the country looking up!

Brilliant resources!
We’re so excited to share Projectile Data Lab. Students can collect and analyze real-world data with #variability! Students can also explore fundamental concepts of measurement #uncertainty, random variables in a system, and propagation of error.

I really enjoyed working with you all😀 - lots of great interaction and amazing rocket designs🚀 (even if we did get a bit wet!!!) @comet_chasers @DS_2_DI @LlangynwydS
A fun afternoon yesterday, exploring energy and forces and how they are used within a rocket. Thanks to @tyseren for working with us 😁🚀🧑🏻🔬👩🏼🔬
Chury is ready for an exciting adventure - hoping to experience a total eclipse of the sun 😎🌞 (given the forecast he may have to experience it through cloud, but hoping for some views at some point!!) We'll let you know how it goes @comet_chasers #SolarEclipse #Eclipse2024
This resonates with what we're trying to do through @comet_chasers and @DS_2_DI

I had a great time with @BritAstro at #Astrofest on Sat.
Lots of great engagement with our rotating penguin and the little 3d printed models of 67P we gave away to youngsters were a hit too.
Here's the first of the observations we scheduled - more to come britastro.org/observations/i…
ALT Comet 62P - a green comet
ALT The whirlpool spiral galaxy
ALT Picture of a computer screen showing a graph with dips in it - demonstrating how the graph of a star looks when an exoplanet passes in front of it
ALT Picture of a computer screen with a graph on it and a rotating penguin (yes, really!) to demostrate how light refelcts differently off the white and black surfaces
Kit packed ready to head to London for #Astrofest tomorrow. Find me at @BritAstro stand. Come and learn about light curves and help contribute to comet science by setting up some of your own comet observations with @faulkestel @LCO_Global research grade telescopes. #OnAMission
ALT A suitcase with various items including a fluffy comet and a soft penguin
Can you guess what's printing??
Any idea what links it to a rotating penguin?? 🤔
Find out on the @BritAstro stand at #Astrofest on Saturday
I'm there as part of our @comet_chasers @DS_2DI project which partners BAA experts with schools 😉
Live observing too 🤞@faulkestel

Pleased to say my Parade of the Planets 2023 just made the Christmas @BritAstro Picture of the Week; britastro.org/observations/o…
All ready for a @comet_chasers Christmas school's workshop - 99 teenagers on their way 🫣 @SpaceAmbassador @cardiffPHYSX @OU_STEM @OUCymru
Chury is ready for the Halfway to Halley Comet Meeting at @RoyalAstroSoc and looking forward to telling everyone about @comet_chasers later 😁
Station platforms are bleak in December #shivering (rail disruption has meant a change at Bristol Temple Meads instead of through train 😔🥶
