Big day today! NotionApps 2.0 is live on Product Hunt 🔴
Jatin and I are super thrilled (and a little nervous) to finally share 2.0 to the world. We first launched on Product Hunt in late 2023.
The journey since then hasn't been easy, there is so much we had to learn, unlearn and constantly adapt. Thanks to our early users and all the feedback we got from the Notion community, we were able roll out a variety of features.
So far over 6000 Notion users built apps for their companies which are used by 100,000+ end-users.
We've seen use cases we never imagined, and it’s been incredibly inspiring to watch Notion users build full-fledged apps without writing a single line of code. That's what kept us going!
Today's launch feels like we are entering a new phase of growth. We are working on even more powerful features this year and hope to take NotionApps to many more Notion users. And your support today will mean a lot to us:

Data restrictions on @NotionHQ databases have long been one of the most used features of @trynotionapps. Now, we have made data restrictions even more powerful by fine-tuning the restricted data on a screen-level. You can read more about it in the link mentioned below.
A much request feature is coming up this week. This makes sharing @NotionHQ databases easier with even more granular permissions.
NotionApps now supports text wrapping on list screens. This allows you to display more information so you don’t need to click on a particular cell to see its details.
More features are incoming in the next few months so you can build customizable apps from @NotionHQ databases.

The most requested feature of this year in @trynotionapps is two-way syncing and it is now live 🔴
Previously, if you built an app using Notionapps, the changes made on the app were synced in real-time to your Notion databases. However, the changes made on Notion had to be manually synced by clicking "Reload Data" on the app builder.
But now you can automatically sync data from Notion to apps too!
This has been the trickiest feature to implement to date, and we (cc - @jatinarora269) worked hard to ensure that syncing is a seamless experience.
This makes the tool much more powerful because any updates you or your team make in Notion will automatically be reflected in your apps, without needing to reopen NotionApps each time.
Some example use cases,
- If you built a client portal, your team can update project or task statuses in Notion, and your clients will instantly see those changes in the app.
- If you created an internal tool for tracking inventory, and your Notion database has formulas to calculate stock, you won’t need to manually reload to see the latest updates.
- If your app shows a large list of images or files, which is updated often on Notion, they will now get synced automatically to your apps.
