Italian artist Sergio Furnari spent $100,000 of his own money creating a life-size version of late right-wing podcaster Charlie Kirk, only to find no one is buying it. The artist says he’s even gotten threats from people promising to urinate on the statue instead. Furnari says he intended for the statue to be sold, but not before bringing it on tour, starting with Times Square. He launched an online fundraiser with hopes of raising millions, but initially set a goal of $150,000. So far, he’s raised about $1,400. ‘Nobody is really coming up with support, especially financial support. So far I’ve spent all my money on this. Things financially are a total, absolute nightmare. It’s like wow. People are cheap, man. You know, people talk, talk — I know lots of people out there, and everybody’s so cheap. You know, like, it’s disgusting how cheap they are,’ Furnari told The Guardian.
