Our oldest and most important trees are vulnerable. Most #AncientTrees have no real legal protection in the UK.

Saw our first dandelion of the year today. Please do let these amazing wildflowers grow! They support over 50 species of insect. In the spring, they are a fantastic food source for pollinators like bees, butterflies and hoverflies. No need to mow, and please don't use weedkiller.

Scientists are hoping one Sitka spruce in New Zealand, dubbed the ‘world’s loneliest tree’ will help answer climate questions.
It’s the only tree for 222km around with its nearest neighbour growing on the Auckland Islands.

Help wildlife in hot weather!
It's set to get seriously hot so keep your watering stations, ponds and bird baths topped up with water, and let some of your garden grow wild to provide shade for the animals. ☀️💦

Even though chalk grassland only covers 4% of the National Park, in a single square meter you may find 30-40 different species.

We're working to #ReNature the South Downs and ensure atleast 33% of the South Downs is managed for nature by 2030.
