The problem with the current public education model is that it was created for the industrial revolution. I talk a lot about how Finland has no standardized tests in elementary school, but did you know, In Japan, early education focuses on character, social skills, and teamwork—no standardized tests until 4th grade. Students learn respect, responsibility, and collaboration before academics take center stage. A foundation for life, not just grades.

Students cannot be allowed to act however they want in classrooms.
There must be accountability for actions. We are not preparing students for the workforce if they are allowed to be disrespectful in classrooms.
This is also true at home. Parents must be parents.

We've all been there.
We see what they're sharing on social media. We hear what they talk about. We watch from afar and wonder why things are so much better where "they" are? Why is the grass so greener over there?
And sometimes we jump the gun.
We leave what we have and run right to the greener grass. And pretty soon that grass starts dying around us too. But what happened? I thought things were so amazing here?
The reality?
Sometimes the grass around us only feels dead because we haven't taken the time to look down and see that we aren't even holding a watering can. How can the grass be green where we are if we aren't even watering it?
Which is why when we leave for greener grass, that grass dies too.
So before you jump ship to something that SEEMS better, first see if the grass is only dying around you because you stopped watering it....
