“Every hour counts: Venous thromboembolism prophylaxis after spinal trauma”
Early VTE prophylaxis in operatively managed spinal trauma patients was associated with significantly reduced VTE events and mortality. These findings support early VTE prophylaxis, perhaps even preoperatively, to reduce VTE events in this high-risk population.

"This study demonstrates that MRSA nasal swabs have a high negative predictive value for MRSA culture growth and ventilator-associated pneumonia in a trauma population and may guide antibiotic therapy."
