Brightline is filing for bankruptcy. While certainly there are policy issues around permitting time and construction costs and EPA rules and the like, fundamentally, Brightline made sense as a rail project. But it's going bankrupt because demand for passenger rail just isn't there. The reason America doesn't have European railways is because Americans do not actually want them very much. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
