Whenever I feel demotivated i rewatch this...
Elon Musk in a living room in 2008, 12 days from bankruptcy, pitching a $109,000 car to people...
Anthropic filed to go public yesterday.
My quick takeaways rom their S-1:
The growth and retention numbers are crazy. The gap that needs closing is adoption with plumbers, real estate agents, landlords, insurance brokers and every other small and mid-sized business. Let's go!
It's budget season.
AI is about to turn every + into a × or a −.
Somewhere in your industry, someone is tipping their plan 45° from + to ×. Everyone still adding will get squeezed.
It's still early. Which symbol will you choose?
Is this AI slop?
It’s clearly AI generated. But it isn’t average. It’s creative, fun, and it lands. The first 15 seconds nail what people want from a personal agent: just fix my washer.
Slop or not?

Yesterday was so fun! I'm back in San Francisco with @AnthropicAI
This time, we're Training the Trainers!
Tenex has been fortunate enough to partner closely with Anthropic on their Small Business series, and this training was a chance for us to take all of our learnings from the first part of the Small Business tour, and transfer it over to the next crop of trainers.
We're now preparing 100+ new trainers to begin teaching Claude for Small Business in their local communities ❤️

As engineering, product, design, DS, etc. melt into a new kind of role, I was reflecting on what roles might look like in the future. For example, when I look at the Claude Code team I see what I think is five archetypes:
1. Prototyper: comes up with brand new ideas; churns out many ideas, most of which don't ship
2. Builder: quickly turns a prototype/idea into production-grade product/infra
3. Sweeper: cleans up the UI, simplifies the code and system, unships, optimizes performance
4. Grower: takes a product that has been built and iterates on it to improve Product-Market Fit
5. Maintainer: owns a mature system to make it secure, reliable, fast, and efficient as it scales
Many people span across 2 roles, and sometimes 3 roles. I also notice that these roles are not really tied to job function -- eg. across Anthropic, some designers match category 1, some 2, some 3; same for engineers, PM, DS.
A healthy team needs a mix of these, depending on the product:
- A product that is new and pre-PMF needs people that are strong at 1+2+3
- A product that is growing and has found PMF needs 2+3+4 and some 5
- A product that has strong PMF needs 3+4+5 and some 2
Maybe product roles of the future will look more like this, and less like the domain-specific roles of today?
That's how the follower pack stays only a few months behind the leader.
Cheating off the smart kid's paper, at industrial scale.
Anthropic says Alibaba queried Claude 28M times to build a cheaper Claude.
Let the leader spend hundreds of millions building the frontier model, then reverse-engineer it from the answers for a fraction of the cost.

Here’s your monthly reminder that you shouldn’t be prompting coding agents anymore.
You should be designing loops that prompt your agents.

Social media is dead.
It's been replaced by algorithmic media — and somehow we missed it.
Same apps. Completely different logic.
From connection → to consumption.
That's why it feels empty.
There's a new kind of debt I call 'judgment debt'.
Every time AI does your thinking work, you get output faster but miss the opportunity to develop good judgment.
It compounds silently, for individuals and organizations, and comes due at the worst time.
Friction-maxxing might be the most interesting thing happening in 2026.
People are framing it as a lifestyle choice.
It's actually a market correction.
Here's what the data is pointing at that the design industry hasn't wanted to admit.
Frictionless products are not bad products.
They are becoming forgettable ones.
You use them. You do not remember using them. You certainly don't tell anyone about them.
This is a design problem. It is also, increasingly, a business problem.

I tried @NotebookLM's new Cinematic Video Overview with my latest deep dive:
"Your New Job Is to Onboard AI Agents"
Honestly, it came out super well. Really impressed by how it created its own structure and narrative.
📌 Watch below:
AI is the most powerful—and most dangerous—technology in human history.
Get it right, and it lights the path to a brighter future.
Get it wrong, and it spreads darkness at the speed of light.
Act wisely.
