"Many of us are caught in the hustle of modern life without time to pause and reflect, to honor our own inner grumblings" @WisdomHackers – at Westminster, England
Great to see our new local MP getting stuck into the stuff that really matters
Lib Dems were proud to present the @zerohour_uk call for a Climate and Nature Change Bill to Number 10.
We are in a climate emergency and facing biodiversity depletion. This was not taken seriously by the last Conservative Government.
We will be pushing Labour to do better!
Delighted for you Calum, I know you'll bring so much to this, and to the wider political arena. So exciting!
Thank you to the people of #BicesterandWoodstock
I am honoured to be elected as your MP.
This is my home. I stood because I want to serve my community, to speak for my neighbours and to represent this wonderful part of Oxfordshire.
I won’t let you down.
Hive mind request! Looking for a sustainably run venue with lots of space and natural light for a workshop with up to 40 people around 10 mins walk from Blackfriars - any ideas?
Listening to how safe or not Rwanda is on radio, whilst COP28 is copping out of fossil fuel phase-out. Can't help feeling UK/rest of West is equally, if not frankly a lot more unsafe with our so-called leaders asleep at the wheel. Want to be optimistic but struggling
Filming these cobras was one of the most incredible experiences I have ever had. I was fascinated by the relationship between the cobras and the villagers. On leaving I was left with more questions than when I had arrived. How did this tolerance of cobras first arise?
Goarn the King....
Wrapping up his speech, King Charles references indigenous communities, saying their "world view teaches us that we are all connected".
"The Earth does not belong to us, we belong to the Earth," he says, as he finishes his speech to applause in the room.

Our site went down, it's built on Rails and started falling over! So we've put up a holding page until we decide what's needed next - if anyone has passion, and expertise and would like to help us in that conversation, please get in touch!

hello folks, we've been quiet of late, but just wanted to say hi, especially to folks @GFNChester and @GFNWinch who are both still very much active!
Twitter friends, what's the best, preferably free, event management software? Showing my age here, it used to be Eventbrite, then I loved @stef and crew's attending.io - what is out there now?

it is objectively quite funny that the biggest surge in immigration in British history came *after* Brexit

The oil & gas industry faces a moment of truth at #COP28
It must choose: keep fueling the climate crisis or embrace the shift to clean energy.
Today, its efforts aren’t encouraging. It accounts for under 1% of global clean energy investment.

Love this!
This mountain panorama website is such a cool way to explore the mountain summits of the world (from your sofa): buff.ly/3Mo10fd
Nice one @benkeene - love a good hack, and the ideas sound great. Congrats!
Can AI help us tackle the climate crisis?
We ran a hackathon to find out. This is what happened.

this resonates, personally from experience and then in founders I've supported in a decelerator process - where identity = work, burn-out often follows - integrating all the parts of your identity into a coherent whole is the challenge and the opportunity
Meanwhile in the real-world....

Been looking for this. "Economy vs climate" as a wedge to polarise UK on a critical issue is a misguided, deeply desperate way to influence voters. It was cynical last time, and inaction has made things worse for both cost of living and climate. Media need to join dots.
NEW ANALYSIS
UK energy bills are £9.8bn higher than they would have been if “green crap” climate policies had not been scrapped over the past decade, new @CarbonBrief analysis shows
