Very excited... out with @BorderMDancers for the first time tomorrow night.
They're letting me play my banjo which, I do realise, is incredibly tolerant of them.
Didn't realise it was so universal: Valente piece on @BBCRadio3 (1570s) the same chord cycle as La Bamba and Twist And Shout.
Can't imagine I'm the only parent who looks back on sharing these books as blissful, and as memories of a very peaceful, comforting place.
Old Bear Advent Calendar No 25! Happy Christmas to all you lovely twitterers. Hoping you all got to where you wanted to get to and are able to relax and enjoy the festivities xx #HappyChristmas2022
This is beautiful:
My wife Karen has made this beautiful little short film as part of her photography degree. I really love it. They had an open brief, only that it was broadly to be documentary. vimeo.com/782905987

Found today: Yamaha keytar. £10 seemed fair - it looked like a toy. Later discover it's a 'proper' MIDI instrument (1980s). Put through an amp via a reverb unit, it's a bit of an animal.
Don't worry, @bathshebas, it'll be staying at home.
If I had hair I 'd be growing a mullet.

Nigel Eaton's great tune Halsway Schottische slowed down and used as a setting for a secular carol by Iain Frisk. And sung by Julie Murphy - what more could you want?

Birthdays and tree trimming going down in the North. All the celebrations served on one plate, with the traditional side of dying sheep from @Magpie_Lane, of course

8. Wonderful instrumental music from the Red Sea coast of Sudan, by turns soulful and groovy, featuring Noori's hybrid electric guitar/tambour plus smoky tenor sax. Definite hints of those Ethiopiques albums on some tracks.

All very serious and grown-up on @BBCRadio3 at the moment.
I think @BBCRadio4 might be beckoning...

I don’t know who needs to hear this but when Paul Robeson, the great American movie star, singer, and activist, met with British miners, and he sang Joe Hill, it went like this ... – at Rome, Lazio
Photos (that by no means do justice) of a couple of floats at Shepton Mallet Carnival. A bit soggy, the event but a real eye-opener to someone (me) not familiar with this kind of thing. Another level, entirely.
On the 100th anniversary of the BBC, here's the first recorded sounds: a tuning fork (1859) (1minute 52 seconds in) and Au Clair de la Lune (1860) (2 mins 10 seconds in):
