Today my chem Ss developed scientific models for 1 of my favorite anchoring events. I love the amount of “science talk” that goes on when Ss are curious about WHY things happen #chemchat #NGSSchat @HEHSHawks #Chemistry

Ss need kinesthetic learning more than ever. So happy to see my chemistry Ss communicating and having fun this year #chemchat @HSDistrict211 @HoffmanHS
These 2 Ss crushed it as Mazemasters this week! #chemchat @HoffmanHS
Do your students need a tutorial on protons, neutrons, and electrons? How about isotopes and ions? Check out my new chemistry lesson: #chemchat Subatomic Particles youtu.be/rJBWxXEi0h0 via @YouTube
Think kids are happy to be doing science labs again??? You betcha!! @HoffmanHS #chemchat
Wanted Ss to analyze data so I recreated my Classification of Elements lab for remote learning. Asked Ss to analyze properties using 17-min video on physical properties of 12 elements & short videos for their chem properties in acid & CuCl2. All 25 videos on my YouTube channel.
Here's the physical property video if you'd like to use it. #ngsschat #chemchat #scichat

CURIOSITY! I realized Ss brainstormed more ideas and had more Qs when I started with the END RESULT of this demo & asked how it was done. No time to set this up? I uploaded the video for you. #chemchat #scichat Blue Water Demo youtu.be/r8qNwyssSsg via @YouTube
Who needs a laugh? During my @ChemEd2019 presentation I shared a few of my favorite chemistry things. Several Ts asked me to share the "Patti" demo. I finally uploaded the video and even included the blooper at the end. Enjoy! #chemed #chemchat youtu.be/_RrhgP3Dqz4

Like I've said before, Ferris Bueller's Day Off will tell you everything you need to know about how a Gen X'ers mind works.
Replying to @naima
I think some of our mindset come from the fact that as latchkey kids, especially the 1970s Xers, we had to figure stuff out on our own. As long as everything was fine by the time your parents got home, it wasn't a big deal. We moved silently yet competently to avoid detection.
