Incredible that the Mowbrays are such vulgar inbred morons that they're openly admitting that they're buying the outcome of elections
NEW: Harry Mowbray thinks the overhang campaign saved the Nats - but bc they didn't lean in enough they still might need Opportunity. He warned that money for they could dry up if they don't start to play ball.

The govt's cynical partisan attempt to disenfranchise voters has resulted in 300k fewer special votes and a 4% fall in turnout for no operational benefit and no cost saving Its only effect was to prevent the wrong people from voting, as intended
It is insane that despite special votes coming in ~300k (!) below the Commission's 700k planning assumption, they are still expecting to take 20 days for the official count. In 2017 they did it in 14 days with late enrolments, 446k specials & an $18m staff budget (it's $95m now).

This is liberal democracy under capitalism. Don't believe that fairytale about elections confering legitimacy onto a Government.

Given the closeness of the contest & the reduced special votes, it’s not a stretch to say the govt’s enrolment changes could be a defining factor in the election outcome.
- 399k special votes - turnout down to 74.6%

Australian officials have issued a reminder to shut your car doors after one wombat helped himself to several passenger seats. The notice followed complaints from visitors at a popular picnic area, where the same wombat reportedly kept climbing into parked cars while people unloaded bags or packed up lunch. At first, staff thought they were receiving several calls about one incident. Then they realized the cars were different. The passenger wasn’t. One couple waited nearly an hour before he climbed out. Another visitor said he settled into the seat before she’d even finished putting her things in the boot. Officials asked visitors to keep their doors closed and contact staff if they found an unexpected occupant. After the photos spread online, a park spokesperson clarified the situation. “He hasn’t been abandoned. He lives here. Please stop calling to say someone’s left their wombat in a car.”

Steve, a tiny dibbler at Perth Zoo, reportedly helped save his endangered species without ever becoming a father. Female dibblers prefer larger mates, and Steve was too small and apparently didn't smell appealing. Keepers used him as the first male females encountered during breeding trials. After meeting Steve, females found the next males more attractive and were more willing to mate. According to the zoo, Steve lived a long life as an unlikely conservation hero.

Elon Musk moving to Texas to get away from Dems, becoming the biggest partisan megadonor in history, then spending around a half-billion dollars to have his own state go blue immediately in the next election — with data centers the top gov issue — is pretty impressive
