IP28 is dead. The measure that would have criminalized hunting, fishing, livestock production, and even basic pest control failed to get enough valid signatures. They turned in over 142,000, but only about 104,000 checked out. That was short of the 117,173 needed. This wasn’t driven by Oregonians. It was funded by extreme progressive animal rights groups from outside the state. We need to make sure the Oregon petition process stays with Oregonians— no out of state funding, and no foreign funding.

This violent, disgusting rhetoric targeted at an elected official and his children is beyond disqualifying. Jay Jones said that “Gilbert gets two bullets to the head” and then hoped his children would die. Read those words again. There is no “gosh, I’m sorry” here. Jones doesn’t have the morality or character to drop out of this race, and his running mates Abigail Spanberger, Ghazala Hashmi, and every elected Democrat in Virginia don’t have the courage to call on him to step away from this campaign in disgrace.
