The best UX is the one you don’t notice. I wrote about the future of Invisible UX—where design disappears, and experiences just flow. Read it on Bootcamp: medium.com/design-bootcamp/t… #UX #Design #InvisibleUX

Which project have you been leaving off your portfolio? madewithforma.co #madewithforma #uxcasestudy #uxportfolio #productdesign #uxdesign

A portfolio is where your case studies end up. It can't do much for you until they're written. So write one first. Forma asks about your project and shapes your answers into a case study you can put anywhere. Start yours at madewithforma.co #madewithforma #uxcasestudy

Five lines from almost every first-draft case study, and what a recruiter hears when they read them. Slide 6 is the one that hurts. Which of these is in your portfolio right now? madewithforma.co #madewithforma #uxcasestudy #uxportfolio #productdesign #uxdesign

Ownership is not a feeling. It's a decision. Most people treat their standards as a response to their environment performing when conditions are good, pulling back when they're not. I've built my entire career on the opposite principle.

Hello. We're Forma. Your best project is probably still sitting in a folder called final_v7. We built Forma to get it out of there. Start your first case study at madewithforma.co

This new era of “privacy” where it’s no longer simply about wanting to keep certain parts of your life private. It’s become this weird performance where you want everyone to know that you’re private. Like, you want to be so discreet that people are supposed to gag when you eventually pop out and reveal what you’ve been doing.

I did my Masters degree at 36. I moved to the United States at 38. I joined the US Army at 39. I got my US Citizenship at 40. I started my PhD at 41. I am building an African Play Center at 42. Just do it. You will grow older anyway, so why don't you age with impact, influence and income?

I did an ideation session with Claude a couple of months ago. A lot of what it suggested was crap; it was recursive, and I picked holes in it until it gave up. I went to Gemini; it brought up suggestions I hadn't even considered, but it didn't go further as it was limited by training data. It then occurred to me that AI is good for seeing whether others have had similar thought processes in the past and for understanding the boundaries of previous thinking before pushing further. AI is excellent for research before creative output. Anyone who thinks it creates new things is either severely limited in their experience or very lazy. The human mind is still more powerful than the best AI. The way we make associations over time and space to create new concepts and ideas is unparalleled. AI is a powerful helper, no doubt, but we must not give up human agency and creativity to laziness and expedience.
I saw a post on Reddit today about AI that said, “AI is data, and data can only look backwards. Creativity looks forwards.” And I genuinely need to sit with the weight of that for a while.

Notable examples: Nigeria 1. Yomi Awobokun - EA to CEO of Oando Group, later COO of Oando downstream subsidiary, later CEO of Oando downstream, later founder of Enyo Retail 2. Alex Irune - was an EA to Group CEO of Oando, now CEO of Oando upstream and Group ED in Oando 3. There was a Kunle guy in Oando too (can't remember the surname again) that was EA to Group CEO and later became Head of Strategy in the downstream subsidiary 4. Obong Idiong (pictured) - Former EA to Tony Elumelu, later CEO of Africa Prudential Plc, now CEO of Heirs Technologies (both Elumelu companies) Outside Nigeria 5. Steve Ballmer - Joined Microsoft as assistant to CEO Bill Gates, rose to become CEO of Microsoft. 6. Ursula Burns - Worked as EA to Xerox executives, later become CEO of Xerox herself. 7. Mary Barra - EA to CEO of General Motors. She later became CEO herself. 8. Sam Palmisano - EA to CEO of IBM, later became CEO of IBM. EA or Chief of Staff to executives is a very good way to prepare people for leadership position. If you are good on the job, the executives notice you, trust you and that propels your career. The problem is, these days, people that are not even executives are hiring some virtual assistants (which is fine) but calling them executive assistant. You no be executive, why you dey call your admin assistant executive assistant? That is what the original poster may have been using as standard for executive assistant. Executive Assistant - proper one to a proper executive - is a top job. You know practically everything about the CEO's (or other executives') job!
Replying to @SirJarus
Quick question…how many EA’s end up in a senior leadership position? Any notable names?

This girl, Chizoba, just graduated from Mechatronics at Nile University with a CGPA of 4.96. She will be with us for the next 4 weeks teaching our children hardcore Robotics and AI. All practicals. Her final-year project was constructing and programming a 3D printer from scratch. She also built unique technology that converts waste water bottles into 3D printing filaments. These next 4 weeks are going to be on fire. Our children will also build drones from the ground up. We selected the top 40 South East Maths Olympiad Winners from Enugu to participate in this program.
