Today is #InternationalSawfishDay 🌍 🌊🦈 Sawfish are among the ocean’s most unique and mysterious creatures, famous for their long, toothed snouts. With only five species remaining, they face a real risk of extinction. Today, we celebrate these remarkable animals and highlight the urgent need to protect them and the habitats they depend on. 🌱💙 #Sawfish #OceanHabitats #MarineBiodiversity #SawfishDay #OceanRegeneration

🌊 On October 6, 2026, at Voices of the Ocean, @FishEyeCollaborative presented a collection of fish sounds from Hawai’i’s coral reefs to the @librarycongress. The recordings represent the first and largest publicly accessible natural sound collection of fish species from the United States and from across the entire Pacific Ocean. 💙 In a ceremony on the steps of the Great Hall, Conservation Nation Co-founder Doro Bush Koch, Wave Operations Lead Sian Tichar, and FishEye Collaborative Founder and Executive Director Marc Dantzker and writer, filmmaker, and FishEye Fellow Tom Mustill presented a copy of the recordings to Acting Librarian of Congress Robert R. Newlen. 🐠🐡🔉 These recordings stand at the frontier of listening to animals and represent a small glimpse of the myriad voices still to be discovered in the world’s oceans. In 2010, the Library of Congress honored the 1970 “Songs of the Humpback Whale,” recording that changed how Americans see the ocean. Today, by adding the first fish sounds to the Library’s archives, the hope is that all ocean voices will be valued, kept safe, and available to the world for study and wonder. 💙 🌍🌱 @rbalsaud @ConservNtn @FII_Institute1 @tommustill #voto #OceanRegeneration
