By refusing to give FSD 14 Lite to S and X owners with HW3, Tesla is broadcasting a message to us LOUD AND CLEAR
Tesla is saying “buy a new Tesla with HW4 and pay for the subscription. You can afford it!”
I will never shut up until I receive what I paid for and what Tesla promised.
If that makes me a bad person to the Tesla Community, I don’t care. You should all be on my side and if you are not, ask yourself why.

Fifty legacy Model S and X owners have now told me what build they are on. Two rounds, three weeks apart.
Not one has FSD v14 Lite. Every configuration Tesla ever shipped. Same answer both times.
Meanwhile HW3 Model 3 and Y just moved to v14.1 Lite with new features this week.
Same computer. Different badge.
@teslasi, one question. Are Model S and X getting v14 Lite, yes or no?
Owners can plan around either answer. Nobody can plan around silence.

I am writing on behalf of the community of Tesla owners equipped with Hardware 3 (HW3) who have purchased the Full Self-Driving (FSD) capability. As dedicated supporters of Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy and advance autonomous driving technology, we feel compelled to bring to your attention the ongoing concerns surrounding HW3 compatibility with the latest FSD advancements.
Many of us invested in FSD with the understanding that our vehicles would receive continuous updates to achieve unsupervised autonomy, as promised by Tesla. However, recent developments indicate that HW3 vehicles are increasingly lagging behind, with owners stuck on older versions like FSD v12.x while Hardware 4 (HW4) and newer systems enjoy significant improvements in v14.x and beyond. This disparity has led to frustration among thousands of loyal customers, including those involved in class action lawsuits in regions like Australia, where false claims about FSD delivery have been alleged.
We are aware of statements from Tesla leadership, including @elonmusk , confirming plans for free HW4 retrofits for HW3 FSD owners. Yet, months after admissions that HW3 may not support the final form of unsupervised FSD, there remains no clear timeline or plan for these upgrades. HW3 owners continue to miss out on critical updates, features, and the full value of their investment, despite contributing to FSD development through data collection and early adoption.
We urge the Tesla AI team to prioritize this issue by:
1. Providing a detailed roadmap for HW3 upgrades, including timelines for HW4 retrofits or alternative solutions like optimized “FSD-Mini” models.
2. Ensuring equitable access to FSD subscriptions and features for HW3 vehicles, addressing misleading advertising in markets where FSD is promoted but not fully deliverable.
3. Engaging directly with the HW3 FSD owner community to gather feedback and rebuild trust.
Your innovative work on neural networks and camera-based autonomy has inspired us all, as evidenced by impressive demonstrations in challenging environments like New York City. We simply ask that this progress extends to all who have supported Tesla from the beginning.

I bought my model S 9 years ago. Paid full price for FSD, upgraded from hw 2 to hw3, paid for mcu2 upgrade, and still no in cabin camera. V 14 lite is no where in site to be downloaded. I hope you see something is not right with this picture. @elonmusk @aelluswamy @Tesla @robotaxi

Hmmm. Here is my Tesla history:
- Late 2016 spent almost $100k on a car.
- had to buy EAP for $5k and FSD on top of that for $3k because was told that if added later was $1k more for each.
- had zero autosteer and adaptive cruise control for almost 9 months and nothing really usable for almost 2 years
- Tesla had a FSD fire sale for $2k had I not purchased FSD at time of initial purchase.
- got the FSD hw3 computer upgrade for free but had to pay $2500 (now $1500) for a MCU upgrade to even be considered to get FSD. If I had not done that, no FSD for me at all!
- played the safety score game and got a 99 but didn’t get FSD because my cameras were not compatible.
- had to wait 8 months to get invited to get a camera upgrade (free)
- finally got the camera upgrade and had to wait another 6 months to get FSD.
At that point I was 6 years into ownership of my car.
So please forgive me for having a bad attitude after being treated badly by Tesla over and over again.
