Saddened to learn of the passing of Justice Mike O’Neill, former trial court judge and longtime jurist on Dallas’ Fifth Court of Appeals. An MIT grad, he was a brilliant judge, and a friend & supporter when I ran. Requiescat in pace, my friend.
I’m thrilled to see my short article “ Appellate Court Treatment of AI Misuse by Attorneys” in the current, appellate-themed issue of the Dallas Bar Headnotes! 62% of TX lawyers use AI, and many need more guidance in doing so responsibly. Grateful to @FaulknerLaw for its support!
Proud grandpa moment: my boy Patrick took his family to Washington, D.C. to see all the sights: memorials, monuments, museums, etc. While they were at the Library of Congress, the 2 boys ( 3rd grader and 6th grader) decided to find my books and found the most recent one (2022)!
I am incredibly gratified that my article “ AI and Legal Malpractice: Are We Due For a Reckoning?” in 14 Tex.A&M L. Rev. 1 has been selected for republication in the LexisNexis Defense L. Journal. Many thanks to TAMU and their editors, and to #FaulknerLaw for its support!
Received this lovely gift recently of Longhorn cufflinks & tieclip from a former student now practicing in Texas, who just won his 1st trial! They were accompanied by a touching letter about how much he appreciated my teaching, especially about AI. #Faulknerlaw
I’ve been fortunate enough to receive some wonderful accolades during my career as a lawyer, a judge, and more recently as a law professor. But there’s something special about my PR students excitedly sharing their great MPRE scores with me this week. So proud! @FaulknerLaw
Happy Constitution Day! As someone who has sworn multiple oaths to protect and defend our Constitution, I hope you’ll join me in remembering what the Framers gave us and striving for a more perfect Union!

Faulkner Law hosted its second Professionalism Speaker Series panel this week, focusing on Artificial Intelligence and the Law.
The panel helped students explore the opportunities and challenges AI presents in the legal profession.
A special thank you to our speakers. 💙🦅

On this day of remembrance, we honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and remember the courage, sacrifice and selflessness of the first responders who ran toward danger to save others.
May we never forget those we lost and the heroes who answered the call to serve.

It’s been a productive summer going into early fall. Besides @TAMU_Law_Review, I have forthcoming articles in 2 law & technology journals, a health law journal, and 3 flagship law reviews that will appear in late ‘26 and early ‘27. Grateful to @FaulknerLaw for their support!
I am honored that @TAMU_Law_Review has published my latest article, entitled “ AI and Legal Malpractice: Are We Due For a Reckoning?”, which examines how profl. negligence suits are becoming the next wave of risks for AI misconduct after sanctions, dismissals, and bar complaints.

Sundays are for reflecting on and giving thanks for our many blessings. One of mine is working with amazing faculty colleagues @FaulknerLaw. Today I learned that our own Col. Bryan Morgan has been honored by the AL Bar as Judge Advocate General of the Year! Congrats, Bryan!
One of the last of my 2025 law review articles is finally out in the Rutgers L. Rev.! Rutgers is where I was a National Merit Scholar & Phi Beta Kappa grad, but most importantly where I met my wife of 37 years ( a far greater honor). Thanks to @FaulknerLaw for its support!
Today as former law students of mine are taking the Alabama bar exam, I lift them up in prayer and ask that God bless them and reward them for their hard work. For my students, I pray that you take to heart Timothy 4:7 as you fight the good fight and finish the race, keep faith.
Congratulations to eminent jurist @GregoryCook on his nomination by Pres. Trump to the federal bench! Justice Cook has been a tremendous voice on the Alabama Supreme Court, and will be an outstanding federal judge!
It’s not quite an early Father’s Day gift, but today I received copies of one of my recent law review articles, which looks at lawyers’ obligations re: their expert witnesses’ use of AI. Thanks to the editors at Nova Law, and to @FaulknerLaw for supporting my scholarship!
I’m grateful that @FaulknerLaw has awarded me a research grant to continue my work on the impact of AI on established notions of attorney-client privilege and attorney work product doctrine. My article will be published in the Notre Dame J. of Emerging Tech. Thanks, @FaulknerLaw
