The Nakba, as it has come to be known, never happened. There were Palestinians who were indeed driven out of their homes — not unlike Indians, Koreans, Germans, French, Jews across the Arab world, and others who were driven out of their homes but in much larger numbers. But the Holocaust-ization of the Israeli war of independence (which left about 13,000 dead out of a population of roughly 1.4 million Palestinian Arabs) is a historical fever dream mostly concocted by the KGB in the service of the Soviet Union’s war against the “Zionist entity.”

I read endlessly about Israeli civilians killing Muslim civilians in the West Bank. The Western media is all over every incident.
So I decided to look up the numbers. The UN OCHA figures are here:

It turns out that since 2008, Israeli civilians have killed 82 Muslim civilians, an average of about six per year.
And while anyone's death is a tragedy, here is something to give a sense of scale.
There are about 3.5 million Muslims in the West Bank. The city of Chicago has about 2.7 million inhabitants, somewhat smaller.
In the same period of time that 82 Muslims were killed in the West Bank, there were 10,511 people murdered in Chicago.
But hey … no Jews, no news, and besides, it was mostly black people killed in Chicago, and the media doesn't cover black deaths …

In 2000, Israel offers a peace settlement, well within the world community's expected parameters, and the Palestinians responded with a violent Intifada.
In 2005, Israel withdrew every soldier and civilian from Gaza, hoping that this would be the beginning of a peaceful relationship with Gaza that could develop into more general peace, formally or informally. The Palestinians responded by turning Gaza into an armed camp focused on destroying Israel, culminating in 10/7.
Almost everyone I encounter on X: "Why won't Israel make peace with Palestinians?" And almost never, "Why won't the Palestinians make peace with Israel?"

Gaza's Ministry of Health recently released data demolishing the "famine" claim. Non-violent deaths in 2025 are nearly the same as pre-war with no apparent excess malnutrition deaths. This should be welcome news but is ignored as it would mean so many "experts" were so wrong.

Why did Ireland sympathetically give safe haven to scores of wanted Nazis during and after WW2 and deny the same to a few French Jewish children when the French Resistance pleaded with Ireland for help ? Naturally the Nazis survived, the children didn’t.
Has this obvious act of sympathy for Nazis and detestation of Jews filtered down to current Irish society…..just asking

Today, on an isolated Israeli farm in Judea (AKA “West Bank”). These farmers, on Israeli sovereign territory, are frequently attacked & harassed by their Arab neighbours. Yet so many in the West vilify them & accuse them of “settler violence”. The truth is very different.

Israel’s elections, where Arab citizens vote equally alongside Jews and all other Israelis, demolish the simplistic, fraudulent “apartheid” narrative. So the goalposts move: Why can’t Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank vote in Israeli elections? Apartheid!
Suddenly, Palestinians don’t want sovereignty or statehood anymore. Recognition of Palestine by the UK, France and dozens of other countries? Irrelevant. Palestine’s UN status? Irrelevant. The Palestinian Authority, President Abbas, Palestinian elections? Scrap them all!
What Palestinians REALLY want, apparently, is to be Israelis, governed by Israeli law and voting in Israeli elections. Forget Palestinian self-determination! At least for today.
It’s always the same. Whichever argument serves the immediate need to condemn Israel wins the day, no matter how contradictory or intellectually bankrupt.

31 years before the modern State of Israel and months before even Balfour, The Sun reported “Terror in Palestine”: 300 Jews deported from Jerusalem, 8,000 Jaffa Jews evicted with houses looted, two Yemeni Jews hanged at the entrance to Tel Aviv.
Ottoman governor Jamal Pasha ordered the mass expulsion of the Jews of Jaffa and Tel Aviv. Thousands were expelled with little or nothing. Many died from exposure, disease, and starvation. Properties were looted. Witnesses described hangings and bodies left in the dunes.
There was no “occupation,” no “settlements,” no Netanyahu, not even a State of Israel. Still, Jews in the Land were driven from their homes and killed.
So what's the conflict really about?
