This is why I’m telling people I want to run for PM in 20 years
ONCE UPON A TIME THERE WAS A GREAT COUNTRY CALLED INDIA. ( FIVE stupid phrases that we use that are helping destroy it). By Sanjay Jha My dear fellow Indians Once upon a time, there was a great country called India. It had a glorious past, extraordinary people, limitless potential and a promising future. Frankly, it was never perfect. No country ever is. But there was hope.  There was freedom. We could breathe. Then something went horribly wrong. Of course, I am not blaming everything post-2014 alone. But the acceleration of the decline got a definitive momentum. No, it wasn’t just the politicians, albeit the bulk of the responsibility lies here. Or the bureaucrats who sold their souls. Like good ole Gyanu Ji. Or the multi-billionaires who appear to have mistaken the national assets for their family inheritance. It was also us. Yes, you and me. All of us, in varying degrees. We Indians have perfected five phrases that explain why a country capable of sending spacecraft to the Moon and Mars still struggles to fix a pothole on Earth. I live in Mumbai, ask me about it. We have the richest municipal corporation in the whole of Asia, by the way.  Anyway, let’s cut to the chase. Here are the five national disasters masquerading as everyday wisdom. If money fades, status shifts to what stays scarce: rare experiences, original creativity, deep insight, and the ability to capture genuine attention. Who explores farthest, creates what machines cannot, or shapes the most compelling futures.

In India, marriage is treated like a magical laddu. Depressed? Get married. Unemployed? Get married. Trying to build a career? Get married. Unhappy with life? Get married. As if consuming the laddu of marriage is a universal panacea for every problem in life! Marriage is a relationship, not a cure for life’s problems.

ENTER HERE (if you want to miss half of the game)
There are no shortcuts in life. If a shortcut really was a shortcut, it would be the path. Everything comes with a cost, no such thing as a free lunch. Choose your trade-offs wisely because instant gratification is guaranteed to backfire on you later in life.

Entrepreneurship is an itch. A bug. Once you get it, there’s no cure. Only spirituality can save you.

I fear the good but naive people of India are being misled into believing that enriching a handful of billionaires is the same as developing a nation. Wealth concentrated in a few coffers is not national prosperity. And no amount of wishful thinking will magically turn India into a developed nation by 2047.

over the past few months, i've spent time helping founders through 1:1 mentorship calls and luma events. i've enjoyed these conversations and learning about what people are building. but i've realised that a single call can only go so far. building a startup comes with decisions, challenges, and questions that don't stop when the call ends. so, i'm taking this a step further. i'm opening up monthly advisory for early-stage founders who want ongoing support as they build. here's what it includes: → weekly advisory calls → direct slack access → pitch deck reviews and fundraising feedback → strategic input on positioning, go-to-market, and growth → curated introductions where there's a genuine fit → an ongoing sounding board for the challenges of building a company $1,500/month. billed monthly, cancel anytime. i want to work closely with a small number of founders where i can add genuine value. if you're building something ambitious and want consistent support along the way, you can find all the details here: buy.stripe.com/6oUbJ1fHW2p8g…
