This episode we discuss the new lifestyle sim Disney's Dreamlight Valley as a lens to discuss our favorite games in the genre, what happens when you throw all of Disney in a blender, and why games about 'escaping' capitalism still need a loan shark.

Daiso is selling a new product that lets you showcase your manga with a little holder that attaches to the end of a bookshelf ledge, so now you can pretend you run a bookstore at home.
While simple and slow to start, I came to appreciate #yurucamp #manga in time for its well-researched Japanese camping tips. The chars are generic but likeable. The art is great. You'll want to keep reading for the delicious looking recipes in later vols. yenpress.com/9780316517782/l…

I'm listening to the @IGNJapan podcast to improve my Japanese. They're discussing Dreamlight Valley and Gloomhaven Digital and it's wild how similar their criticisms and general game terms are, and how different the game and movie tiles are in JPN vs ENG! @omnigamersclub

I woke up this morning to a news alert that our @GirlsWhoCode middle-grade book series was banned by some school districts as part of the Mom for Liberty effort to ban books. To be honest, I am so angry I cannot breathe.
