Reading Protocols by @hubermanlab, which is great. A proposed protocol to study for book 2: An observed but understudied longevity practice is dedicating a substantial amount of time over many years to art (creating, collecting, curating, etc). I meet an outlier number of the most sharp, energetic octogenarians+ in the art world (& rarely outside of it). Something about time dedicated to thinking about art seems to increase lucid health span significantly.

Was super fun to join @MilkRoadStocks and chat @SpaceX ahead of today's earnings call. Lots of predictions & some uncommon observations in here. $SPCX is the best positioned among a new set of dominant technology firms - Spacefaring Hyperscalers. The $TSLA acquisition opens up a convergence of technologies that the market will struggle to price. All of it makes for incredible opportunity.
SpaceX could become the biggest winner of the AI boom. @kukulabanze claims SpaceX can build AI data centers for ~$30M per megawatt and generate ~$50M in annual revenue from that capacity. That's potentially a payback measured in months, not years. If those economics hold, Wall Street could be massively underestimating SpaceX. Cars are now doing things they aren't "supposed" to do. Stocks are also now doing things they aren't "supposed" to do. Make your stocks fly. Deposit them into a @Dialectic_Group Yielding Machine on Makina and let them earn yield.

Stocks that just sit in your wallet are leaving yield on the table. Put any Magnificent Seven tokenized stocks to work in vaults instead. Live now on @base at makina.finance.
Coinbase Tokenized Stocks are growing with Aave: - Stock-backed loans by Aave - Stock vaults with yield by Dialectic / Makina - Earn on stocks by Superform - Agentic Earn on stocks by Zyfai More to come (all non-US only). All powered by @aave and @base.

Tokenized stocks have reached a ~$3.7B market cap, and they're becoming increasingly usable in DeFi. @Dialectic_Group has launched seven tokenized stock vaults on @base, one for each of the Magnificent Seven, built on @makinafi and powered by @aave. Apple, Nvidia and Tesla exposure can now support an onchain yield strategy without selling the underlying position. The mechanism: • Deposit tokenized stocks into a vault. • Use them as collateral to borrow through Aave. • Deploy the borrowed liquidity into onchain yield opportunities. • Capture the spread between investment returns and borrowing costs. You retain stock exposure while putting its collateral value to work. The economics depend on that spread. Borrowing costs eat into returns, and falling stock prices increase liquidation risk, making active management essential. For Aave, this opens another source of borrowing demand: equity holders seeking additional returns on positions they intend to keep. And, more borrowing against tokenized stocks means more revenue for the Aave DAO.
More options for tokenized stocks on @base. Seven new vaults are live, one for each of the Magnificent Seven, built on @makinafi. Each puts a tokenized stock to work in an onchain strategy. Only available in eligible geos ex U.S. Now Live.

Vaults are becoming a core layer of the financial stack, but not all vaults are created equal. Makina's vaults combine strategy flexibility and execution efficiency with explicit depositor protections: ▪ Vault risk managers define permitted actions and risk parameters. ▪ Vault operators can only execute actions within a pre-approved set of Instructions. ▪ Instruction-set updates are timelocked and subject to Security Council and Root Guardian vetoes. ▪ Separate execution, risk management and oversight roles limit any single actor’s authority. Alongside custody models and permissions, transparency into a vault’s operations, accounting methodology and risk profile is essential. Makina makes allocations, risk parameters and instruction-set updates easy to inspect, with underlying onchain data available for independent verification.

The future of managing capital onchain has many names. AgentFi, agentic finance, agentic DeFi, DeFAI. Call it what you want, it will change how capital is managed. And MakinaX will be the DeFi execution engine needed to constrain agents that manage capital. More below.

HyperNormalisation is a 2016 BBCdocumentary by British filmmaker Adam Curtis. It argues that following the global economic crises of the 1970s, governments, financiers and technological utopians gave up on trying to shape the complex "real world" and instead established a simpler "fake world" for the benefit of multi-national corporations that is kept stable by neoliberalgovernments.

.@DavidSacks makes a good case here that the “AI will kill humanity” headlines were orchestrated: they leaped into mainstream media from the dormant X account of an Anthropic employee who quit after six weeks. David names purported perpetrators and calls out the role @WSJ played.
Chamath @chamath: how does an account with no followers get 110 million views in a day? David Sacks @DavidSacks had an answer, on the same All-In @theallinpod taping. Within 15 minutes of the Anthropic researcher's doomsday resignation post, three policy groups amplified it: ENCODE AI's Nathan Calvin, the AI Policy Network's Peter Wildeford, and the AI Futures Project's Daniel Kokotajlo, who dropped a Rogan episode the same day using the same phrasing. All three groups are funded by Jaan Tallinn, who co-led Anthropic's Series A. The Wall Street Journal published a story on the resignation minutes before the tweets went out, meaning the paper had been briefed under embargo. The researcher had agreed to appear on the show and cancelled the morning of taping. Our breakdown traces the funding chain and what it means for Anthropic's IPO: podcastalpha.substack.com/su… Source: All-In Podcast - youtube.com/watch?v=cvxjqbfL…

Dario has written that we need to “pace the frontier,” and Sam has agreed. People may be surprised by my response: go ahead. You guys are the frontier. By any reasonable metric — market share, revenue growth, model capability — the two of you have a duopoly on frontier intelligence. You’ve also claimed the lead is widening because of recursive self-improvement. I don’t see what you see in the lab. If the unreleased models are scary enough that you think you should slow down, I support your decision to be responsible. But stop pretending you need anyone else’s permission. Stop pretending antitrust law has to be suspended so you can form a cartel. Stop pretending you need a regulatory approval process that supersedes product liability. Stop pretending METR is independent when it is intertwined with Anthropic’s investors and staff. Stop pretending you need those same evaluators to police competitors who aren’t even at the frontier. Most of all, stop pretending the motivation to slow down is purely altruistic. You face massive product-liability exposure if your products enable a truly damaging cyberattack. The market already punishes models that behave in unpredictable or unauthorized ways. After the Hugging Face episode, it is simply good business for OpenAI and Anthropic to trade some raw power for reliability and predictability. Call it alignment if you want. It is also just giving customers what they want. Pacing the frontier would also create breathing room for a more intelligent conversation about regulation than Bernie Sanders’ “shut it all down.” China is very unlikely to join a global agreement, as you know, and that has to be taken into account as well. So go ahead and pace the frontier. You are the ones setting it. The easiest way not to build superintelligence is for you to agree not to build it. Demanding your preferred regulatory framework as the price of that will look like blackmail of the public and the political system. So just do it. If you do, you’ll buy goodwill for the next conversation. If you don’t, we’ll know this was just another bid for regulatory capture — or an election-season psyop.

whoever’s in charge of comms at anthropic
Jacob is correct here—we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans! I personally think it is >10% within the next decade. I believe Anthropic is trying its best, but we do not yet have a plan to solve alignment for superintelligence and are not clearly on track to.
