I think many men would actually like to be vulnerable and playful with their wives, and especially with their kids. I mean, I’ll bark like a dog if it makes my 2-year-old burst out laughing. The problem starts when the woman I call my wife records me barking and posts it for 327,000 strangers on the internet, just so she can brag that she bagged a “chalant man.” She forgets that there are people who, for my sake, still need to see me as a hard man, a strict fellow, and a serious person. I have a social image outside of being a “barking father”
