“We never intended to be a disruptor; it just happened by accident.”

First, DeepSeek challenged the cost of AI. Now, DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash and open-source DeepInfer are pushing the technology further.
Hard to call disruption an accident anymore.
🚀 Introducing DeepInfer, our in-house inference framework, now fully open source!
Powering DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash at scale with high throughput and low latency. We’re sharing our production stack to help the community lower compute costs, reduce energy use, and make AI more affordable.

FT decided to dig in to the biggest drag on growth this country has. We have a new record of a 72% marginal tax rate.
If you are evenly remotely above average, it increasingly feels like Britain is not the place for you.
I know many people caught in this. You either need household income closer to £500k or someone to stop working for this to make any sense. Yet again, the middle gets punished for doing the thing that the economy and country functions on (working, having a family).
I try to be optimistic here but I don’t see this being fixed. It’s too small of an issue to be a vote winner and high-risk for any politician who’s trying to appeal to the average earner in third world Britain.

Goldmansachs has increased its 27 and 28 server forecast by 31% and 45% respectively
Honestly, I can’t help but laugh whenever I see this kind of modeling. How many people can actually predict what will happen beyond 2027 with any accuracy? Is there even any point in building these models in the first place? Especially the idea of “forecasting” demand… I think it’s utterly absurd.

Onto Innovation targets 350bp of gross margin expansion and expects advanced packaging demand from Intel ($INTC) EMIB-T architectures to become material in 2028, according to Goldman Sachs. Management projects that margin gains can be achieved entirely through favorable product mix and internal factory efficiencies. In chip-on-wafer-on-substrate packaging, tool demand is increasingly driven by outsourced assembly and test partners rather than TSMC alone. Meanwhile, high-bandwidth memory inspection faces minimal risk from processor de-specing because equipment needs track unit volumes rather than stack height. Onto Innovation does not see itself as capacity constrained, creating substantial room to scale revenue as demand accelerates into 2027. Management maintains high confidence in its inspection market share at leading foundries, seeing no imminent threat from competing product launches. Goldman Sachs reiterates a Buy rating with a 12-month price target of $400, based on a 32X multiple applied to normalized EPS of $12.50, reflecting premium multiples driven by high-performance computing momentum. Key variables that could alter this trajectory include customer adoption speeds for Dragonfly G5 inspection systems, market share shifts toward domestic Chinese manufacturers, and potential rival tool introductions. Investors should watch outsourced packaging order volumes and advanced packaging node milestones across foundries to verify whether gross margin targets materialize as projected. #Semiconductors #Tech Report date: 2026-10-14 · GS

TERAFAB: TSMC CEO and Chairman C.C. Wei said on the company’s Q3 2026 earnings call that any collaboration involving Terafab would require the fab to be run by TSMC. Wei confirmed TSMC is still in discussions with the Terafab customer and has sent teams to Texas to evaluate additional capacity beyond its Arizona facilities.
Per Wei, "Recently, we did expand our capacity consideration to see whether we can get another chance to expand our capacity outside Arizona, and Texas is the one... So we sent our teams to Texas to do all the evaluation and we also talked to one of our customers who is trying to build a fab, Terafab. And we are discussing with them to see whether we can utilize that actual capacity... We are still in discussion. But the fab got to be run by TSMC."
