This video literally breaks down how I'd double an ecom brand's revenue from SEO and AI search.
I cover:
- Finding low-hanging fruit opportunities
- Reverse-engineering and outranking competitors
- Getting recommended in AI search

Here's how to steal your competitor's spot in AI search:
Let's say you want your product recommended instead of theirs for "what is the best coffee grinder?"
Enter the prompt into the AI model you want to appear in.
Look at the sources being cited to pull the recommended products.
Are they listicles? Reddit threads? YouTube videos?
For this prompt, it's listicles and a YouTube video.
But 4 of the 5 sources are listicles, so that's where I'd focus my efforts.
Now here's the part people miss.
Your listicle needs to look like the ones AI is already citing.
So open up each one and analyze:
- Their average word count
- How many products they feature
- What products they feature
- The criteria they use to rank each product
- How in-depth each product review is
Then write 5-10 variations of your own listicle that model them, with your product ranked #1.
Next, look at the types of sites the cited listicles live on.
In this case, they're mostly coffee blogs.
So reach out to other coffee blogs and pay them to publish one of your listicle variations.
Only go after blogs with a DR of 30+ and real organic traffic.
Get 5-10 of them live, and odds are a few will start getting cited in AI.
Which will then get your product recommended as the best coffee grinder.
And it doesn't take long.
I've gotten ecom brands I work with cited within 24 hours of the listicles going live.
It's much faster than traditional SEO.

AI local search doesn't work like the old Three-Pack.
Search once and you might not show up. Search again and you might. That's not a glitch, it's how AI ranking actually works now.
We tracked AI local packs daily for a week. The results moved constantly, but a few businesses still showed up more often than others.
Rank isn't the number to chase anymore. Presence over time is.

How much traffic Google AI Mode is referring to sites? @Similarweb reclassified its traffic from "Gen AI" to "Organic Search" on September 1st, and we can easily see how much Gen AI traffic drops on September 1st for any site. For many of the top sites of the web, also used as citation sources, such as YouTube, Reddit, Facebook, it has been a 60-70% drop in Gen AI traffic (which is still a fraction of organic search). If you have access to Similarweb, go and take a look 😉

My first SEO client paid me $2,000/month in 2019.
Last week, I onboarded an enterprise client that's paying me $12,000/month.
That wasn't by luck.
Had that opportunity come to me in 2019, zero chance it would've worked out.
A lot has happened between then and now for me to even be capable of closing a deal of that size.
The way in which I do SEO now is completely different.
Honestly, I'm a bit embarrassed by some of the work I did in the early years of my agency.
Since then, I've invested so much into mentorship and coaching to help perfect our processes and just be better at SEO.
Not to mention, at this point I've worked with hundreds of brands, so I've seen enough to immediately know what works and what doesn't.
Because of that, the results we've been delivering are pretty incredible.
Like, I'm genuinely proud to put my name on my agency.
And those results have compounded into massive amounts of social proof.
People vouch for the service I provide.
CEOs and founders regularly refer me to their friends.
Our testimonials are amazing.
And that gives me the confidence to know that I can have an impact on businesses.
I can talk to enterprise-level brands that are households names and tell them: "No, that's wrong. This is how you're supposed to do SEO."
All of the wins, all of the losses, all of the experiences I've had running my agency...
They've truly molded me into a completely different person.
And, look... I'm not naive.
I know $12,000/month isn't that big of a deal size in the grand scheme of things.
But it's cool to look back and see the progress.
Sometimes it's hard for me to notice how much I've changed as a business owner over the years.
But the numbers don't lie.
