🚨NEW: GOP Senator Lisa Murkowski has cast deciding vote to pass the “Big Beautiful Bill” in the U.S. Senate, which will cut health care coverage for millions of Americans.

The people of Alaska have continued to elect a soulless Senator to represent them. IMO Lisa Murkowski hurts people. She hurts her constituents and she hurts her country and she is terrified of Donald Trump. IMO this is a soulless creature with no morals.

I'm on the Senate floor right now debating Trump's Big Ugly bill, and I really worry Americans do not fully realize just how bad it is.
Please help get the word out.
This is just SOME of what's in the bill (so far).

One of the worst legislative processes I’ve seen. No bill text STILL, almost a trillion out of Medicaid, a subsidy to move a space shuttle to Texas, a statue garden, 4 trillion in debt, random goodies to buy votes. Hospitals will close and kids will go hungry. Trash.

Big update: after overnight meetings with the parliamentarian my team successfully got these exemptions stripped from the bill. Special giveaways to protect certain states from these devastating Medicaid cuts is the worst form of hypocrisy.

We’ve been voting for nearly 24 hours trying to stop this Big Ugly Bill. 16 million Americans’ health care is on the line—this bill is bad news for the country.
There’s too much at stake to do nothing.

This would be devastating to US leadership in weather and climate. And folks, sorry to say, it doesn't just impact climate - it is debilitating to weather innovation as well.
We knew this day could come but here we are. The 2026 proposed @NOAA budget shutters all world-class federally funded meteorological, oceanographic, and climate labs in America. Included is @HRD_AOML_NOAA, a fixture for over 50 years in Miami. Hundreds of top scientists tossed.

Pay close attention to what Tillis is saying here. They delay the deepest Medicaid cuts until after the 2026 midterms... so voters wouldn’t notice until it’s too late.

The most absurd example of the hypocrisy of the Republican bill: they have now proposed delaying SNAP cuts FOR TWO YEARS ONLY FOR STATES with the highest error rates just to bury their help for Alaska: AK, DC, FL, GA, MD, MA, NJ, NM, NY, OR. They are rewarding errors.

Chris Murphy: "This is the most deeply immoral piece of legislation I have ever voted on in my entire time in Congress."

There are only 33 people in America who make a billion dollars or more per year.
Republicans are ready to explode the deficit, shutter hospitals and rob kids of food—
So the top 0.00002% can get a tax cut they don’t need. Read that again.

Pollster: You just never see approval numbers this poor. I have been trying to look through the history books to find if there was another piece of legislation that was on the verge of passing that was as unpopular as this one, and I cannot find one. Just 23% of Americans say that the policies of the Big Beautiful Bill help their family, compared to 49% who say that they'll hurt their family

Where it starts is never where it starts. The news that DOJ is prioritizing denaturalizations, combined with very vague explanations of who they will prioritize, is deeply concerning. open.substack.com/pub/joycev…

Really hate how Republican politicians have managed to shift the way political reporters cover energy. Hardly matters if they don't quote climate deniers if they fail to note how many people are killed and sickened by fossil fuel pollution, and how much cheaper solar & wind are.

This comparsion in the NYTimes today is pretty stark. China is racing ahead to be a high-tech exporter of 21st century technologies, while the US is doubling down on being a petro-state exporting the technologies of the 19th century: nytimes.com/interactive/2025…
