Our charity exists to save lives at sea. Our mission is to save every one. Our lifesavers are compelled to help those in need without judgement of how they came to be in the water. They have done so since the RNLI was founded in 1824 and this will always be our ethos.

Hunt saboteurs caught the Quantock Staghounds hunting this stag yesterday. The stag miraculously escaped. North Dorset Sabs said: "the cruel and barbaric treatment he was subjected to leaves us fearing that he could still succumb from capture myopathy or extreme exhaustion."

Hopefully anyone with a secret phone would have it switched off but charged and ready. If not, the emergency alarm this evening may have meant it was discovered. Please share.

Dan Jarvis booted out last night and replaced with Wes Streeting as defence secretary. He had only been in the role for a few weeks yet had met many of his counterparts having attended NATO summit and Ukraine defence contact group. Big blow for Jarvis, a well respected former paratrooper, and his team.

Anyone who goes running with their dog attached to a lead around their waist is a cruel idiot. Your dog wants to stop and start, snuffle and fossick, and not be made to go at your running pace. Stop it.

🚨⚠️ DOG BEATER & ABUSER RECEIVES SUSPENDED SENTENCE AFTER BREAKING DOGS LEG
❗ALISON WYNNE, 47. NORFOLK
MAKE HER FAMOUS - RETWEET
CONVICTED | Alison Wynne, 47, currently of Hopton, near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, and previously of Lakenheath, West Suffolk – broke her dog's leg and inflicted other blunt force trauma injuries on him.
Wynne was found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to her six-year-old Jack Russell named Jack.
Concerns were first raised about the dog on July 24 2024, when he was taken to a veterinary practice in Mildenhall with a fractured back leg.
Veterinary staff became concerned after identifying additional injuries, including head trauma and abdominal bruising, which did not match the explanation given.
RSPCA animal rescue officer David Allen attended the practice alongside police officers. In a statement to the court, he described seeing Jack with a visible leg injury, a discoloured eye and signs of bruising.
Veterinary professionals suspected the injuries were non-accidental and reported a history of previous unexplained injuries between February and July 2024.
The dog was removed under the Animal Welfare Act and taken to RSPCA Finsbury Park Animal Hospital for treatment.
Wynne was summoned to court following an RSPCA investigation.
The court was told Wynne “suffers from mental health issues and learning difficulties”.
Jack made a good recovery and was happily rehomed.
Investigating RSPCA Inspector Dean Astillberry said: “This was a concerning case involving a dog who had suffered multiple injuries over a period of time.
“Thanks to the actions of veterinary staff and attending officers, Jack was removed from harm and received the care he needed.”
Sentencing | 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 24 months. Lifetime ban on keeping animals which she can appeal after 10 years.

However, we are very sad to report that after pretending to pack up at 5pm and sending all the field riders home, hunt staff carried on hunting with a fleet of quad bikes and killed a stag in the river Yeo at 6.30pm after running him ragged. How low and desperate can you get….

🚨⚠️ ANIMAL ABUSER
🚨 SAMANTHA LERWAY, 38
🌍 BRISTOL
A woman has been banned from owning animals for ten years after dead and starving cats were found in squalid and disgusting conditions.
Samantha Ann Lerway, 38, of Fairford Crescent, Stoke Lodge, Bristol, pleaded guilty to animal welfare offences, following an investigation and prosecution by the RSPCA.
Inspector Kim Walters, who investigated for the animal welfare charity, was called to the address after concerns were raised about cats being abandoned by their owner.
Inside live cats were found alongside the bodies of deceased and rotting cats and a rabbit, with numerous cat carcasses in the bathroom, and a half eaten cat carcass in a bedroom.
The home was cluttered with animal faeces and rubbish.
Alongside the ten year disqualification from owning animals, she was sentenced to 18 weeks custody, suspended for two years, and a nine month mental health treatment requirement with 15 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement (RAR) days and a £40 fine.
She was also ordered to pay £400 costs when she was sentenced at Bristol Magistrates’ Court.
The surviving cats, who were underweight and had fleas at their time of rescue, were signed over into the care of the RSPCA for rehoming.

I’m done with racing. Sick of defending it and advocating for the good people in the sport who really do love and care for their horses, when there’s so many still not willing to put the horses first. I can’t condone it anymore. The 4.50 at Fakenham has tipped me over the edge.
