Ask Palestinians in Gaza what they would do first in a liberated Palestine, and watch their faces light up. The smiles, the hope, the excitement of imagining a life of freedom. Give to Gaza: chuffed.org/project/113222-t… They would travel across their own homeland, visiting cities and villages they have been barred from seeing. They would shout “Alhamdulillah!” Celebrate life, freedom, and the simple joy of being Palestinian on Palestinian land. After generations of occupation, displacement, and suffering, the dream of a liberated Palestine remains alive in every generation. May we live to see that day soon. May we all return home. Until then, The Sameer Project will continue standing with Palestinians in Gaza, easing their suffering and helping them survive today so they can experience the freedom they deserve tomorrow. At capacity, The Sameer Project kitchen can produce 3,000 meals every single day, with each meal serving approximately 2–3 people. And we can scale up even further. We have the ability to produce up to 5,000 meals a day!! So why aren’t we? Funding. That’s it. Right now, we may be able to produce around 1,500 meals when the need demands 5,000 - more. The kitchen exists. The team exists. The infrastructure exists. The ability to scale exists. What we need is the monetary support to purchase raw ingredients and keep the operational logistics moving. It is painful to watch this capacity go unused while families are hungry and enormous sums of humanitarian funding - donations supporting large iNGO’s - sit there without reaching people quickly enough. On September 9, The Samee Project kitchen team showed their work as rice and chicken breast meals were prepared. In one external distribution in the South alone, we distributed 517 rice and kofta meals from our kitchen at a cost of $1,481 total after commission. We know how to scale. We know how to reach people. We are ready to cook more. We just need the funding to do it.
