On August 2, 1941, Croats entered the village of Smiljane and burned down the church where Tesla's father served and the house of Nikola Tesla. They killed 91 member of the Tesla family. In Smiljane today, not only is there not a single Tesla, but there is not a single Serb!

This is genius! An AI-generated presidential lunch at the white house. 😂

Can't wait for Microsoft Ignite and seeing all the new things that will be burned in just a few years #msignite
The Year of #Linux on the Desktop will be when they translate all Windows APIs and let us run .exe on Linux. I assume Linux has the equivalent to shell32.dll, user32.dll and the rest, so faking/redirecting those calls to their own might be the way.

#DunePart2 experience at Microsoft Store on 5th ave
There was no line to try it out. If Microsoft still had a VR headset it could have been 100x better

If a developer asks me “should I build on either the Vision Pro or Quest?”
I’ll break it down here. TDLR: both have huge issues, but great for experimentation.
1. Choose a faction: If you are exploring and don’t care about making money. Choose whether you want to do games or utility apps. Games go Quest, Apps go Vision Pro.
2. Demographic: For Vision Pro you will be mostly building for millennial techies or Apple die hards. For Quest market is mostly selling to young boys.
3. Cost: Vision Pro is very expensive $3.5K plus tax, plus requires a Mac with M1 or above (Mac Mini cheapest option starting $450). Quest starts at $250 and requires a $500+ PC to dev for. If you are using Unity, Quest can be made with the base version while Unity Pro is required for the Vision Pro which is $185 a month.
4. Revenue: If you want to make money both are difficult. Vision Pro will have a substantially smaller install base (200K+ probably reach 400K this year) but higher chance of people paying for an app (per capita). Quest you would likely want to start with freemium to compete with other free apps, but the Quest has much larger install base (20+ million devices).
5. Games: If you choose to make games, remember the top games leverage movement. Ask yourself “what can I do in a headset that I can’t do in normal games”. If it’s not compelling enough to get people to put on a headset at all, they won’t play it. Don’t make a long tutorial and focus more on the core mechanic than the narrative.
6. App Store: In some aspects the Vision Pro is more open, the store policies are clear and easy to get approved, while Quest is heavily “curated” (predatory) and you are highly unlikely as a new developer to ever get your game published. I’m talking about years if ever (seriously). If you have buddies on the content team at Meta you may have a decent chance, or a game dev who has worked in the space at AAA studios. If you are a Quest “chosen one” you can make a decent amount of money. Top games on Quest can make $ million+. Can make OK money if you are very successful on App Lab (5-6 figures).
So in summary don’t get into VR right now if you want fast money. Do it because it’s interesting, unique, and you want prepare for the future (or you have friends at Meta).

Here is a video for Vision Pro users to see some spatial games happening in real space. The only interaction is pinch and voice commands youtu.be/BFzUljfcLDI?t=20
...but there is a catch

A keyboard utility now has an annual subscription of $17, wow. It's an f-ing product with 5 options, not a service with running costs. Will everything be a subscription now?
Watching #ThreeBodyProblem TV series (after Audiobook). The Chinese are really making it literal, and slow, and with a lot of slurping. While I liked the book, I hope Netflix version will be faster and more digestible (my wife wants to give up watching after 7/30 episodes)

At $3500, Apple sets huge expectations with Vision Pro. But does it deliver? And what’s it really like to own and use?

WTF, I've been working with user to fix issue, and after several emails of him being dumb he replies "sorry, I this was #AI replying"
F* this is what's coming, outsourcing all interactions and efforts and everyone just jacking 0ff all day in their AVP
Watching my wife migrating her old Samsung phone to a new Samsung phone. It sound like it is not going well as if she is watching sports and her team losing. Samsung was always bad with the UX. You get a new phone and instead of being happy you regret buying it and wasting time
As expected, arcades are still using Lenovo Windows Mixed Reality headsets, as using Meta Quest would be PITA in this settings. Shows the need for simple tethered #VR headsets
