New Jersey, you have shocked the nation.
Analilia Mejia, a longtime progressive organizer allied with Sen. Bernie Sanders, has emerged victorious in a crowded Democratic primary in the special election to fill the U.S. House seat formerly held by New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill. apnews.com/article/new-jerse…

Dems must face the reality that @AOC describes instead of pretending it doesn't exist.
I hope Dems begin to see that moderate or progressive, AIPAC is not our friend.
They endorse January 6th insurrectionists. Yet if you so much as suggest the US uphold its own Leahy laws, no matter your record, they will work against you.
They are a right-wing organization that undermines democracy. They have zero tolerance for any diversity of thought from their line, and pressure elected officials to increasingly place themselves at odds with our responsibility to represent the electorate and the views of the majority of Americans, who find the genocide in Gaza an appalling affront to American values and do not want to see US taxpayer funded weapons used to perpetuate it.
AIPAC also knows this. That’s why none of their political ads discuss their actual issue at all and why they use vaguely named Super PACs so people don’t connect them with their own stated political mission and intent.

The IRS is effectively unable to audit private equity, venture capital, and real estate investment firms.
Thousands of workers have been fired from the agency since DOGE and the world's richest man took an ax to it.
Now audits of these giant enterprises have dropped 80 or 90%.

Last month, after I wrote my story about giga-scale data centers, two journalists at The Washington Post reached out to use Cleanview's data for one of their stories. Their piece just came out and it's a great read.
Using our data, and a few other sources, @evanhalper and @niko_tinius found that the average planned data center is expected to be 10x larger than current operating ones.
Yesterday's data centers used as much power as a small town. Today's are expected to use as much as a city with 500,000 people. But the largest ones could use as much power as Philadelphia (population: 5.7m).
These data centers come with important consequences. As Evan and Niko write:
"Such facilities will create a major climate challenge. By the mid 2030s, forecasts show the world’s data centers could drive as much carbon pollution as the New York, Chicago and Houston metro areas combined."
@evanhalper and @niko_tinius consistently publish awesome work. To read more of their work, subscribe to The Washington Post's Climate Lab and give them a follow here on X.

These Carville NYT opeds were months apart.
He's gone from demanding Dems play dead to demanding Dems be Bernie Sanders.
A good reminder that thumb-in-the-wind politicos with no principles will change their tune when others do the hard work of shifting the political environment

The legacy of DOGE is not that it failed. It's that it destroyed:
1. faith in real cost conscious governance
2. the careers of committed govt employees
3. scientific research and the biomedical breakthroughs that come with it
4. countless lives of the world's poorest

Why have so many Americans been brainwashed into believing that their tax dollars going to things that benefit the community and individuals is a bad thing, but using tax dollars to bail out billionaires and corporations is a net positive? Are you people okay?
