New York City non-profit organization (noun): a front line provider of crucial NYC services typically owed millions (and often in debt from fronting $$ waiting to be paid back) by the City of New York for services rendered. We've gotta do better. #NationalNonprofitDay

It’s no small feat that 9,500 school buses transport our students every day.
What if all of those vehicles were electric?
Read about why all NYC school buses will be required to be #ZeroEmissions by 2035, and how that will further environmental justice: advocate.nyc.gov/blog/fundin…

I REALLY wish the state would crack down on this the way they insist on trying to crack down on class size.
Or maybe city council could force this report the way they’ve pushed on other things.
Unfortunately @NYCSchools no longer releases suspension data w/o pressure from reporters despite clear legal deadlines

People who enter our city jails will eventually return home. Therefore, what occurs in our jails is critical to public safety. People in extended isolation experience psychological and physical distress and are more likely to harm themselves or others. This makes us less safe.🧵
Mayor Adams and his administration today continued to argue that solitary confinement has not occurred in New York City jails since 2019.
That is in stark contrast to reality.
New Yorkers like Brandon Rodriguez, Elijah Muhammad and Erick Tavira have lost their lives and their families have been devastated by this continued use of isolation.
By any name, solitary confinement kills.

Back in Feb, we wrote about the Adams administration's transparency promises and an executive order meant to promote transparency at city agencies.
City Hall declined to provide clear info on how the EO is being carried out across agencies, or by whom.
