Eyewitness to the Israeli settler attack on Palestinians and @washingtonpost photographer Heidi Levine tells me, “It was barbaric…there were maybe 5 or 6 surrounding her. They had clubs…And they were standing over her, beating her over and over, it was truly horrific. I was worried that she was going to be killed.” - @infinite_jaz

Israeli settlers attacked a Jewish American journalist in broad daylight, and Israeli soldiers did nothing.
She said from her hospital bed, "Sadly, none of them will be prosecuted. I am sure of it.”
Are we going to let her be right?
Great news! Our city should not be compelled to carry out Trump’s racist, violent mass deportation operation. Now we need the private sector to do their part and grant ICE no quarter in our city.

The former party chair and her allies have paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to their favorite law firm to try to block challengers and keep themselves in power.
But they barely spent a dime on supporting Democratic candidates and apparently don't even pay their bills.
New: Assembly Member Nikki Lucas, Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn’s pick to succeed her as leader of Brooklyn Dems, is being sued over debts associated with her 2021 City Council campaign.
A spox for the assembly member described past invoices as disputed.

New Yorkers deserve leaders who keep industries that need strong oversight at arm’s length, not ones whose circles are cozy with them. The standard is ours to set at the ballot box in the years ahead.
Some pretty insane details on Gillibrand here including:
– Her comms director bought up to 30k of bitcoin and ether one week before Gillibrand announced a bill putting both under friendlier CFTC oversight.
– Her chief of staff invoked the Senator's role as the DSCC’s top fundraiser while pushing other Dem aides to back her crypto-friendly legislation
-Her 22-year-old son raised $30M for a startup that is backed by crypto investors, including a key Gillibrand donor.
Gillibrand on staff trading crypto: “I could care less what they do with their money. This is not a nanny state.”

NYC advocates and representatives rallied outside the Marble Hill @Target to demand that ICE be barred from using their parking lot. Our places of commerce cannot become bases of operation for ICE while our neighborhoods become their hunting grounds. #ICEOutofNY – at Bronx, NY

My heart is with the people of Panama after today’s devastating earthquake. To everyone affected and to the first responders on the ground, the New York community stands with you. 🇵🇦
A massive magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck Panama, shaking buildings more than 100 miles away and prompting evacuations, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

We must abolish ICE. We cannot have bands of secret police roaming through the streets terrorizing our communities. Enough is enough! Every elected official who has enabled these despicable acts should be run out of office and as Democrats, we must send a clear msg this November.

HANDS OFF NYC
STATEMENT ON ICE SHOOTING IN THE BRONX TODAY
ICE shot with the intention to put this man’s life and the life of a child at risk. This is the consequence of allowing a lawless federal agency to operate with impunity, secrecy, unchecked, deadly force. Abolish ICE!

Chaotic scene as protesters and elected officials arrive on the corner of 225th and Marble Hill Rd, technically still in Upper Manhattan, where ICE shot someone this afternoon. Councilmember Carmen De La Rosa tells me the person who was shot is in the hospital. Was with a child.
