The Peter Serafinowicz Show Christmas Special. HOW is this not better known? In its own idiosyncratic but entirely accessible comic universe, highly original from start to finish and there isn't a single sketch that misses. AND THAT'S *STILL* NOT ALL! timworthington.org/2020/12/2…

Recently APTS Archive made a significant discovery in terms of television history. 87 years ago DH Munro (Pre-war Productions Manager) filmed the trial programmes to RadiOlympia on 9.5mm cine film. The film is currently being digitised - follow for future updates. @BBCArchive

Both from IBA's TV and Radio 1980, which must have the most enticing cover of the entire series - Piggy, Waterman, Ford and Walden! @transdiffusion @UKPRES1

I used to love The Lotus Eaters, and had rather a thing for Wanda Ventham at the time. I hear they're planning a remake, featuring jet-setters nibbling on a cinnamon-flavoured biscuit with their cappuccinos.

"Got pork for lunch on Sunday?" This Scarred For Life favourite is easily the most sinister advert ever made, considering what it's selling.

On this day in 1980, an unscreened (for obvious reasons) and revamped pilot version of TOTP was recorded. BBC crew members were drafted in to impersonate the hitmakers (with varying degrees of success).

#NationalVCRDay 7 June 2023. #OTD (7 June 1980) I wandered around the studio at BBC TV Centre, being a nerdy nuisance, shooting amateur BTS footage of the making of #thehitchhikersguidetothegalaxy pilot episode, using a borrowed (heavy!) portable VHS VCR. youtu.be/uU54oxyGca4
