A well-cared for herd of English Longhorn cows in #EppingForest being let back out to graze at Fairmead, following a quick 'MOT' with the team, where feet & horns were checked & batteries in collars replaced if needed. All passed with flying colours as healthy, happy cows.

Lea Bridge Water Works
Hackney Water Works. In the 1690s Francis Tyssen installed a waterwheel on the site of a fishery weir at Jeremy’s Ferry. The water raised was piped to a reservoir at Clapton and from there to local properties. These works fell into disrepair but in 1760

17 volunteers and 2 Rangers spent Valentine's Day at Tottenham Marshes (@LeeValleyPark), litter picking and laying 300 yards of woodchip path. Thank you to everyone involved. Thank you @Brenda79945380 for the photos!
Really great volunteer task today @LeeValleyPark in Clendish Wood, on Tottenham Marshes. Woodchipping the path and doing a deep litterpick and tidy up. Thank you all!!! Great day!!

Why should #volunteers who 💚 their #RiverLea be put at risk pulling heavy fly-tipping up steep muddy banks out of contaminated water?! A pollution boom needs to be installed on @ThamesWater #LeaFloodReliefChannel with vehicle access,&maintained by HGVs&paid, trained staff #SDG8
Excellent honorary warden task yesterday @LeeValleyPark building a dead hedge round the pond, using left over willow with @tubsbilbo @kathy4546 and @no_junk_male thank you so much, looks amazing 😀

Yesterday we put in more welly to dismantle submerged windfall willow boughs that’d started rooting into the gravel river bed.The pinchpoint snagged incoming #INNS Floating Pennywort giving it a ready foothold from which to choke further sections of our beloved #RiverLeaDiversion

We’d rather invest our community volunteer effort& R&R time removing schedule9 #INNS FloatingPennywort damaging our #RiverLeaDiversion habitat but ‘til @ThamesWater stops the chronic spread via #LeeFloodReliefChannel this isn’t feasible @LDN_environment @RamsarConv
