A 41-year-old man was shot dead and allegedly run over by a passing vehicle after he and his wife fled armed robbers near Carousel Plaza on the N1 on Sunday night.
The man’s wife reportedly fled the attackers as the incident unfolded, amid suspicions that the couple may have been targeted in a spiking trap.
⚠️ Motorists are urged to remain vigilant when travelling on the N1, particularly at night.
This is another chilling reminder of the dangers motorists face on our roads. Suspected spiking incidents must be taken seriously, and police need to investigate these attacks and bring those responsible to justice.

I want the families of those who died from cholera in Hammanskraal during your term to also pursue criminal charges against you in terms of the National Water Act 36 of 1998, Section 151, which criminalises certain unlawful or negligent acts affecting water resources.
