The postponement of a verdict on Carrim's bail application is a script we have seen before. There could be more charges added before the 28th. Brown, Fanie Nkosi, Julius Mkhwanazi and Cat received more charges when they thought they would get bail. Carrims illness will find state doctors to assist him like everyone else.

Police agencies have arrested individuals of Nepalese origin in multiple recent incidents involving the unlicensed sale or illegal production of alcohol. The culprits are in the country illegally. All they received were fines and allowed to stay in the country. Looks like there is no more an illegal migrant.

Crime does not pay. The high level cases of Cat, KT Molefe, Khan, Sibiya and others, basically consumes all the money they stole on legal expenses. Oscar Pistorius spent R17m on his defence and still owed R10m by the time he went to serve six years. Today he is as poor as a church rat. Advocates charge insane fees for daily services. Sibiya's pension payout may not even be enough to foot his legal bills. Worst still, his work perks including salary have been terminated.
