We'd flagged this for schools in June - as had others. So sorry for schools that will have their starts to the new year sabotaged. No doubt resourceful school staff will respond well to the crises confronting them - which yet again are not of their own making.
Some schools are needing to use Remote Learning to compensate for the fact that their sites have been CLOSED because of concerns over RAAC (normally found in roof panels). 4 schools closed at present...150 schools could be affected. #edtech hubs.ly/Q01TNrj30
By 10/08/1914 @Gallipoli15CHTL was in Rouen as a disembarkation officer awaiting arrival of BEF and supplies ... he'd rather have been getting ready to cross the channel with his battalion 1st RBR #FWW #oldcontemptibles
I reckon that virtually all my teachers are no longer teaching in schools (I left secondary school 41yrs ago!)... but I'd still like to thank all my past teaching COLLEAGUES... and especially those whom I taught & was then fortunate to have as colleagues #ThankATeacherDay

Thanks @novatia ... couldn't resist letting you know about 1st Baron Courtney of Penwith ... apparently a prominent Liberal-Radical MP who advocated for PR, was an opponent of militarism & imperialism, married one of Beatrice Webb's sisters... (I'll get back to edtech now!)
When you have a historian on team... @stevewn has discovered that Mr Courtney MP coined his favourite #cybersecurity phrase 'The Price of Peace is Eternal Vigilance' in the 19thC & helped to popularise an oft-used #schooldata phrase 'Lies, damn lies... and statistics'! #novatia

This year's school competition with prizes is for lower secondary students. It asks them to look at advertisements from 1914 - 1918 and to think about what we can learn about life during #WW1 from them. Click here for details and submission forms > bit.ly/3MC88Ee
New @SchoolsWeek article flags KCSIE guidance changes (released yesterday/come into force 01/09/23) that reference additional actions a school might need to take regarding online safety - also mentions @educationgovuk digital standards #KCSIE #Novatia schoolsweek.co.uk/new-school…
Put together an overview of recent @educationgovuk publications re. IT in schools with must/should/could read advice for Digital leads, SLT, Network managers & School Business Managers... hope it's useful @TheANME #SLTchat @Naace @novatia (ps. you're allowed to read them all!)
Thanks LinkedIn ... but I think your algorithm needs to go back to Maths class... my career started nearly 40 years ago...

On my way to London today ... but not to @Bett_show ... that's tomorrow. Today I'm supporting a large secondary school as they seek to appoint a new Network Manager @novatia
Delighted to know that @PodarIndia can be at @Bett_show in the UK this year. Hope you can identify edtech to support you in your ongoing commitment to continuous improvement. #podarites #Bett2023
