The first day of our September 2026 battlefield tour of Gallipoli. Always a long day but we usually find some time to take things in on the way to Canakkale. Pictures courtesy of Louise Provan. #phbt #gallipoli
Robert Fleming was our final speaker of the day. Robert's talk was on the Australian Flying Corps away from the Western Front. It was a great talk which rounded the day very nicely.
Following on from Peter and Warren was Lucy Betteridge-Dyson who gave a brilliant talk on Mules and the AVC at Gallipoli. Lucy's passion really shone through especially with the varied questions after the talk.
A fantastic day was had by all yesterday at our Annual Conference held at the RAF club in London. Many thanks go to all of the speakers who donated their time and efforts to deliver first class talks.
#ThankYou
Andrew was followed by Steve Snelling who provided a thoroughly entertaining talk on the Gallipoli related stories which were ran in the pages of the Victor comic. Main character Sergeant Bob Millar was involved in almost every scrap and scrape and the talk was well received.
Following a super lunch it was the turn of @PeterHart1915 and @wampasmudge to talk about the Ayrshire Yeomanry at Gallipoli, although late arrivals to the peninsula they were in the thick of things from the off and in the case of Captain PM Campbell there right to the very end.
