Should’ve gone with an index fund.

Getting some work done this afternoon at a hot new coworking space: my local library. They even have free books to borrow. Who knew.

I wish we could have more serious societal discussion around how to mitigate this versus just trying to pretend it’s not happening.
NEW REPORT: using updated data, I find that 2-4m Americans are not working due to #longcovid. This is costing us ~$170 billion annually in lost wages alone. A thread (1/) brookings.edu/research/new-d…
This is absolutely incredible.
The misconception that there is no sound in space originates because most space is a ~vacuum, providing no way for sound waves to travel. A galaxy cluster has so much gas that we've picked up actual sound. Here it's amplified, and mixed with other data, to hear a black hole!
NASA Data Sonification: Black Hole Remix
In this sonification of Perseus, the sound waves astronomers previously identified were extracted and made audible for the first time. The sound waves were extracted outward from the center.
I so appreciate the uncompromising passion of @Fady4Indiana as he defends women’s reproductive rights and religious freedom. So eloquently spoken and well-argued. Wish he was still my Indiana senator.
How fitting.

Sen. Greg Taylor, leader of Senate Dems, points out that the abortion bill will go through the Rules committee -- where the bill's author is the only woman on the committee -- rather than health, where six of 12 members are women.
Life lesson I’m learning to accept: (almost) everything is hard. It’s the rule, not the exception. The struggle is the journey. What feels like “extra” effort is actually the typical level of effort required for anything worthwhile.
Just donated to @mireprofreedom, which is working to create a 2022 ballot measure that would amend the Michigan constitution to protect reproductive rights. This is a roadmap for states in post-Roe America. Consider chipping in: secure.actblue.com/donate/re…

It’s pretty sad that, if we want the women in our family to maintain their previous constitutional rights, we have to choose to move out of state. What a dark time.

Stop using adoptees as pawns in your abortion wars. Even the happiest adoptees have lifelong issues and many adoptees suffer abuse at the hands of their adoptive parents.
We are people. Not chess pieces.
💯 This rollout is insulting to parents of <5s who have tried to protect their kids, in some cases, for *years* as the rest of society moved on.

Incredibly disappointed to learn that @BeaconHealthSys has apparently not even ordered Covid-19 vaccines for <5 year olds. I was told it could be 3 or 4 weeks before pediatrician office is ready to administer it, which is unacceptable. More advance planning should have been done.
