Part One looked at what your GCSE results can and can't tell you. Part Two asks the harder question: now what? Remarking, question-level analysis, gap analysis, and turning findings into this year's CPD plan. Part Three tomorrow - on what NOT to do. enserm.substack.com/p/part-t…

Love this stuff. The Tick Trick is easily the best mini-whiteboard powerup. It gives you a second round of assessment, and forces students into the feedback process. see thread for more: xitter.cf/adamboxer1/status/1840…
The P2 content continues! Just look at 10U’s recall on the different stages of a skydive. Independently written and from memory. MWBs used to check recall, application and build confidence ahead of the written work and tricky exam question. Marked using the tick trick. šŸ’œšŸ¤©

The Addition Ladder is a collection of all the questions pupils are expected to master as they go through primary school. You can use it to identify gaps and then quickly create a bespoke worksheet of practice questions. mathsbot.com/primary/additio…

Today's activity caused a lot of debate... Ask the kids to come up with suitable questions to populate the flow chat accurately and then name the quadrilaterals. Full doc here: emaths.co.uk/teacher-resourc…

A Maths quiz to finish off the year! As a thank you to everyone who has used the site this year, I’ve created an 8-round Maths quiz. With many of my final lessons coming over the next few days, I wanted to focus solely on maths to keep students engaged, rather than veering into general knowledge/current affairs (which they’ll no doubt cover in other classes). mathswhiteboard.com/download… I hope you enjoy it! All questions were crafted by me specifically for this quiz, and I especially had fun creating the music round. This quiz should be accessible for all students, though it might be a bit easy for a bright Year 10 group. For other great ideas, do check out mathswhiteboard.com or consider subscribing mathswhiteboard.com/MWB/purc… for more time saving ideas. @mathsjem @ColleenYoung #maths #mathschat #mathsteacher #mathsresources #MathEd #iteachmaths

My opinion is that students in secondary should basically never write or type notes. During explanations, they should be listening. After explanations, they should be provided with concise + accurate notes. The time they would have spent writing notes should be spent answering questions.
An important study for all schools that have gone tech heavy. Typed notes = ā¬†ļø more notes Hand written notes = ā¬†ļø more learning link.springer.com/article/10…

You might have played Cards Against Humanity but what about ā€˜Cards Against Teaching’! I’ve made this game for our end of term staff meeting with over 120 cards, but it would also make the perfect inset day icebreaker for staff. Excited to play it with staff now!

Y8 are still struggling with compound area, especially with subtraction. Today I made them write a plan without numbers before they were allowed to do any calculations. It worked pretty well - I need to do this sort of thing more often.
