You need to close them down before they get there Martin.
"I think it’s something we really have to look at, closing down players on the edge of the box, rather than giving them space."

From Galicia to Glasgow. Two cultures, shared Celtic roots, one love for football 💚🤝🩵
Rivals for 90 minutes. United long after the final whistle.
Seeing both sets of fans applauding each other. This is what football is all about.
Thank you, @CelticFC, for making this journey so special.
Until we meet again 🩵
They’re already a “total nonentity” outside of Scotland.
In the summer it was revealed that Celtic had finalised a long-term strategy "to be the best club in Scotland, to be financially sound and to compete in Europe".
Is this anything different to what it was before? Aren't there specific targets to reach in the #UEL that are different from the #UCL? Success becomes subjective if the generic message is just to "compete".
Unless the club are automatically in the Champions League they don't seem to invest for Europe.
When they were knocked out UCL play-offs to LASK Linz, spending basically stopped - just Joel van den Berg was bought. The rest of the squad was patched up by loans and one free transfer.
They haven't 'competed' in the Europa League/UEFA Cup for 22 years, when they last won a knockout tie. This is a tournament where Celtic do have the financial muscle to go far in, but they don't really push the boat out on signings if they're out of the UCL.
While success in the UCL can be measured by getting out of the League Phase, the target should be different for the Europa League - not the same.
Two seasons ago Celtic were in the knockouts of the UCL, last season it was the knockouts of the UEL and this season they are on course to not make it out of the UEL League Phase - this is constant regression.
Celtic need a long-term strategy that puts European football - and specific targets to monitor success in it - at the forefront of everything they do, before they become a total nonentity outside of Scotland.
Celtic are a fkin laughing stock outwith scotland. An embarrassment and something to be ridiculed in Europe. The board and the running of the footballing dept is an absolute disgrace. No recruitment dept or footballing structure, hence the shit performances in Europe.

This fker won’t be laughing soon.
Russell Brand jokes with his wife Laura about his rape and sexual assault trial.
Russell: I beg your pardon? Mrs. Brand are you saying from the stand that you enjoyed Paul Saladino’s beef stick?… Let me be clear, you follow me? His Beef sticks, follow me?… wait, for the benefit, your honor… for the bene—
Laura: Okay, stop.
Russell: For the benefit...
Laura: No, stop…
Russell: The whopper, for your attention, the whopper, the whopper is a Burger King product, no further questions! The whopper isn’t Wendy’s! No further questions!
