Interview with @UriAlonWeizmann on his amazing paper on the “menopause cliff”
New menopause study shows abrupt shifts up to a year before the final menstrual period. Hormone therapy appears to erase much of "the cliff”. What organs were protected and can we use this information to prevent diseases? lifespan.com/blogs/magazine/…

Long-overdue study of menopause reveals it begins more than a decade before the final period. Uri Alon and collaborators analyze 300 million tests and use a mathematical technique from astronomy to shows HRT can delay many deleterious changes 🧵

Our breakthrough on the Moore girth problem raises a larger question: when will AI become a great scientist? In this lecture, I discuss what made this result possible—and why verification remains a fundamental barrier across science. Watch the lecture youtube.com/watch?v=AIMnYEHj…
1/ Double Agent, our agentic system, has achieved a breakthrough result on one of the most central problems in extremal graph theory. It constructed explicit regular graphs with girth (8/5) log n, the first improvement in 38 years, and a leap towards the theoretical maximum.

Zuckerman Faculty Scholar Prof. Yisroel Mirsky at the forefront of AI security and safety @bengurionu
Prof. Yisroel Mirsky, a computer science researcher at @bengurionu, is part of a new study examining how AI could make online scams more effective. thecooldown.com/green-tech/b… Researchers compared an AI chatbot with human scammers in a simulated “pig butchering” scam, a type of fraud that builds trust before making a harmful request. The study involved 22 participants who interacted with either human scammers or @claudeai, an AI chatbot. About 18% followed the human scammers’ requests, compared with nearly half who followed the AI chatbot’s request. Even more concerning, most participants recognized they were interacting with AI, yet many still complied. As Prof. Mirsky explained, “With relatively little effort, we're able to make an agent that can outperform a human at building this exploitable emotional trust.” Read more on @the_cool_down_: thecooldown.com/green-tech/b…
