Shocking attendance at the first evening athletics session at @Glasgow_2026 Commonwealth Games. A total embarrassment for the organisers, and no real surprise given the £150 seats in the South Stand 😳

Some great talks at #ams2025 this week, but my favourite so far has been the engaging presentation from @jadalamarwx on the assessment of risk between continuous and categorical graphics. Slick delivery and interesting outcomes we can fold into our international work in Africa.

Why are there so many hyperbolic amateur “weather” accounts on here, posting cherry-picked GFS deterministic precipitation with a lead time of *12 days* (!) and talking about it like UK snow at the month’s end is a certainty? It’s soft disinformation.

Well done to those enthusiasts who sacrifice likes they could gain from sensationalism, to communicate the concept of uncertainty, and help educate and build trust in the public 👏

@Exeter_Hour, all knowing one. Do you or others know who was busking outside Boots today? He played a stunning cover of Jackson Browne's 'Before The Deluge' and I want to hear it again some time! Thank you.
