Interesting info about the sesamoid bone; the site where Got The Chocolates has sustained an injury.
What is a sesamoid bone? It is actually a very small (size of a walnut!) paired bone in the back of the fetlock (ankle) of a horse. It is absolutely crucial to the mechanics of that joint. It is difficult to fathom that the entire weight of a horse balances on one ankle at a time during a gallop - imagine the momentum and the force of a 1000-lb horse running at 35 mph and those 2 little sesamoid bones doing all that work! Injuries come in all shapes and sizes-some good, and some very bad. Small fractures can be removed and still have an athletic career-large ones need repair, or retirement. This week we repaired a nearly mid-body fracture in the RH of a 2-yr-old TB filly. Fortunately, if all heals well, she can return to racing or have any other kind of athletic career. The surgical technique has come a long way and is now done thru 2 tiny (pencil-eraser size) incisions🪛🛠️

Officer David Harriman of the Carver Police Department responded to a call of a woman who submerged her vehicle underwater.
She managed to escape with one of her dogs, but a second dog was still trapped underwater in the truck!
So Officer Harriman dove in, swam to the bottom and worked to save the dog! He's a total hero! Don’t pass without Giving him a thumbs up 👍
