Sixty Grand (NZ) (Time Test) has rewarded the patience of his ownership group, winning the Sportsbet Blackbook Handicap over 2028m at Morphettville on Saturday.
The four-year-old Time Test gelding went out the favourite and was strong to the line under Noel Callow.
Congrats ๐ to all the Galloping Wekas involved. Sixty Grand is fashioning a nice career record of 6-2-1-0 and is based at the Cranbourne base of Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr.
Sixty Grand is a full brother to @ShaunPhelan3's Notabadspillane, and a half-brother to Weka royalty, Pennyweka (NZ) (Satono Aladdin) out of Threepence.
He was sold out of @ArdsleyStud's 2024 draft at @KarakaChat for $130,000.

Stifle OCD (osteochondrosis dessicans) comes in all shapes and sizes but this 2-yr-old STB filly takes the cake this week! Both stifles were very swollen on exam and each had multiple LARGE, loose OCD fragments dispersed throughout the joint. Fortunately, an arthroscopic approach allows for retrieval of all the fragments - it can be dynamic process as they are floating and darting around the large joint cavity but its really just a fun medical form of a video game lol๐. The interior of each joint was actually in good shape so she will be ok - but quite an impressive haul of bone fragments!

I obviously hit a nerve with my comment about the use of a whip on Ka Ying Rising.
Make no mistake, I love and support horse racing. I'll always advocate for change to make it safer for people and horses, and more socially acceptable as times change.
Thanks to those who responded constructively, and to the couple who called me a dumbass, leftie, idiot, a problem, etc., "get stuffed".
I was devastated about what happened to Ohope Wins, and maybe I took it out on the whip issue; however, I did not make it personal.
Without the horse, there is no sport. We can do better.

Kingswood should be standing as stallion in NZ. Breeders donโt allow him to be repatriated back to Ireland as a National Hung sire, need these stayers. He is a middle distance winner, as well. NZ breeders, move ASAP.
