Some people pretend they’re debating tax and technology, but what they’re really protecting is their own projects, delegations, funding and narratives. They spread fear, present themselves as the only people with the answers, and try to convince everyone that only they can save LUNC. I don’t buy it. If their theories and recovery plans really worked, we would have seen the results by now. After all these years, results matter more than long threads, big promises and self-appointed experts. If they could save LUNC, they would have done it already.

If you’re so sure the tax will kill the chain, put your money where your mouth is. Short $LUNC now. Crank up the leverage. Good luck. 😂
233 billion LUNC voted Yes. That does not mean the community is against builders. It means people have listened to the same warning for four years and no longer accept it as fact. We were told that reducing the tax would attract developers, dApps and volume. So the 1.2% tax was quickly reduced to 0.2%, and later changed to 0.5%. Four years have passed. Where are the results? We did not see the wave of useful products and meaningful activity that was promised. What we mostly got were small games, NFTs, meme coins and new token launches that created noise for a while but very little lasting demand. Some projects were far better at marketing and raising money than bringing value to Terra Classic. Yet the tax is still blamed for everything. The truth is simple: people use a product because it is useful, interesting, fun or gives them a real opportunity to earn. A good product creates its own demand. A bad product does not suddenly become successful because the tax is 0.2% instead of 1.2%. I am also a builder. I have created some dApps, and I want to keep making them better, more polished and more useful. I want them to bring convenience and real earning opportunities to users. The tax has never stopped me from building, and I have never seen it as the real problem. That is why I do not understand how you can keep speaking as if this tax will destroy builders while never explaining exactly what it prevents Ceramic from doing. Which part of Ceramic becomes impossible because of an additional 1%? Which part of its model stops working? I know work has been done on Ceramic, and I am not denying that. But Ceramic has also been discussed for years, and the measurable result that would prove its core theory is correct has still not arrived. Until then, it remains a theory too. You are free to believe in your theory, just as others are free to believe in the burn tax. But until Ceramic delivers measurable results, you are in no position to speak as if your theory has already been proven and everyone else is simply wrong. None of us is a saint. None of us is the final economic authority on Terra Classic. Confidence, complicated models and long explanations do not prove anything by themselves. We are not trying to rob users or punish builders. We are correcting a decision made four years ago and restoring a burn tax that was never given a fair chance. The community has heard both sides. 233 billion LUNC chose Yes. Results decide who was right. Not who wrote the longest explanation.

The 1.5% on-chain tax has officially passed #LUNC governance! 🎉 Thank you to the community member who put this proposal to vote, who is blessed indeed. 👏 Thank you to all the validators and community members who voted yes on the 1.5% tax proposal! 💯 This proposal restores the focus of LUNC on burning, by tripling the burn tax rate, as well as community pool and oracle pool funding from the tax. 🔥 I have been called many things, but I thank God for fulfilling the dream He showed to me over 3 years ago on 15 March 2023, of the passing of the 1.5% tax! 🙏 It took patience, several vote attempts and a huge amount of effort. Thanks be to God for bringing the victory! See the list of validators who voted in support here: validator.info/terra-classic… Some even chose to support when they were previously against the proposal. Great work! 👏 A huge thanks to those who have supported the burn tax from the beginning!

We believe in a low tax, ecosystem focussed growth model for #TerraClassic. However maybe it is an opportune moment to give a higher tax strategy a chance to see if it works. If unsuccessful we can change it in the future. Good luck. #MALUGA validator.info/terra-classic…

Four years ago, this community came together around the 1.2% burn tax. Since then, we’ve been through everything. It was reduced to 0.2%, later raised to 0.5%, and now, after years of arguments and setbacks, the tax is officially 1.5%. The ironic part is that many of the people who pushed hardest to reduce it to 0.2% left this community a long time ago. But those of us who stayed are still here, still building, still fighting and still believing. Nobody likes paying taxes. But for me, the burn tax has always represented our determination to reduce the supply and fight inflation. A huge thank you to my dearest comrades: @VegasMorph @L_U_N_C @ForTheCross_CH And a special thank you to my whale friend for making a thoughtful decision at such a critical moment. Your support made a real difference. This was not an easy victory. It took four years. Today, we brought the original commitment back. 🔥 And why four years? Because CZ gave us the answer a long time ago. A secret plan. 4️⃣😂🔥 terra-luna:native

$LUNC Proposal #12223 - PART 2 Mr Diamondhandz the LUNCLIVE Validator appears to continue misleading the $LUNC community again to promote his own projects. A project that taxes its own transactions at the exact rate he calls “stupid” for LUNC. Mr Diamondhandz, told the community: “Even CZ knows a 1.5% LUNtax is stupid.” CZ never said that.👇 CZ’s comments were from September 2022 and concerned whether Binance should add an extra 1.2% charge to every LUNC trade inside Binance. They were not about Proposal #12223. They were not about a 1.5% Terra Classic on-chain tax. Appears that LUNCLIVE Validator doesn't understand the difference. There were two separate issues in 2022. First, Terra Classic’s 1.2% on-chain tax. Binance confirmed that the network tax would apply to deposits and withdrawals, while spot and margin trading inside Binance would not be affected. Binance accepted the on-chain tax and adjusted its systems. Second, people wanted Binance to copy that 1.2% charge onto every LUNC trade inside its own exchange. That is what CZ was discussing. His blog opens with: “Will Binance support the LUNC burn of 1.2% for every trade on Binance?” The section is titled: “Taxes on Centralized Exchanges.” CZ’s concern was that if Binance charged an extra 1.2% while competing exchanges did not, traders would simply leave Binance and trade somewhere cheaper. He was talking about Binance customers, Binance order books and Binance competitors. He was not telling Terra Classic what tax rate it should set on-chain. CZ even proposed an opt-in system and linked an earlier statement saying the project needed to implement the tax on-chain first. That is exactly what Proposal #12223 is about. It raises Terra Classic’s on-chain tax from 0.5% to 1.5%. It does not add a 1.5% charge to every trade inside Binance. Binance later chose to burn part of the LUNC trading fees it already collected without increasing normal user trading fees. He opposed Binance charging its users an extra 1.2% while competing exchanges charged nothing. Taking that position and rewriting it as: “CZ thinks Terra Classic’s 1.5% on-chain tax is stupid” is not quoting CZ, It is putting words in his mouth. Now look 👇 Mr Diamondhandz owns LUNCLIVE Node. WESO’s own litepaper lists him as its Public Relations spokesperson. That same litepaper states: “WESO imposes a 1.5% swapping tax on all transactions.” It describes that tax as funding project initiatives and maintaining: “Healthy market dynamics.” WESO’s original exit tax started at 20.5%. So when WESO charges 1.5%, it is called healthy market dynamics. When Terra Classic proposes 1.5%, WESO’s owenerwcalls it stupid. 1.5% for WESO: Healthy. 1.5% for $LUNC Stupid? @Allnodes @DutchLunc_Val Read the original sources👇 Check the dates👇 Follow the incentives👇

I can’t agree with this. Utility and burns are not in conflict. Of course LUNC needs more utility, but keeping the tax low has not brought volume back either. We already reduced it, so where is the new activity? I also don’t understand why people assume that raising the tax from 0.5% to 1.5% would suddenly make users leave, dump LUNC or short it. That doesn’t make sense to me. People use something because they need it or because it gives them value. A 1% difference is not the reason a chain succeeds or fails. Where I live, we pay 13% sales tax on most things. Other places only pay 5%, but I don’t know many people who move somewhere else just because of the tax. The burn tax also represents our commitment to reducing the supply. LUNC has a huge supply problem. If the burn rate is so low that it makes almost no difference, then what is the point? I agree that utility is important. But utility and burns should happen together. We should build more, create more reasons to use the chain, and at the same time show that we are serious about reducing supply. For me, 0.5% is almost meaningless. I think 1.5% is reasonable, with 1.2% burned.

This is not an abstract theoretical debate. It is a question of understanding basic economics and what actually happened on Terra Classic. You said: “Tax forces transactions off-chain.” A tax can affect the cost of certain high-frequency trades, arbitrage and market-making activity. But transactions do not happen simply because a tax is low. People transact because they have a reason to transact: useful applications, demand, liquidity, arbitrage opportunities or the possibility of earning a profit. Nobody wakes up and makes transactions for no reason simply because the tax is lower. The fundamental reason Terra Classic lacks on-chain volume is that we do not currently have enough meaningful applications, profitable opportunities or products that people genuinely want to use. Removing the tax does not automatically create any of those things. You then said: “It’s cheaper to trade LUNC on Binance.” Trade it for what purpose? Short-term traders and speculators already use centralized exchanges because that is where the liquidity and order books are. They are buying and selling LUNC based on price movements. That is not the same thing as genuine on-chain economic activity. People do not move on-chain simply to trade for the sake of trading. They move on-chain when there is something useful or profitable to do there. You also said: “There is no money validating the chain unless you’re in the top three.” That is simply not true. Burrito Node is currently around 13th in voting power. It earns approximately $150 per month in LUNC and USTC. I do not sell those rewards; I compound them because I view them as a long-term investment. Whether a validator is profitable depends on delegation, commission, operating costs, token value and overall network activity. It has no direct connection to whether the burn tax exists. You then said: “People are losing interest as compounding losses is not the best business model.” Of course people lose interest when an asset keeps falling and they are losing money. That is true throughout crypto and traditional markets. But again, that does not prove that the burn tax caused those losses. Low prices, weak demand, limited development and the absence of useful products are much larger issues than the transaction tax. Finally, you said: “We have had the tax for five years.” No, we have not. The original 1.2% burn proposal was approved in 2022, and the tax was implemented on-chain on September 21, 2022. That is not five years. I have been part of Terra Classic since the chain was created after the collapse. I remember every stage of its history. After the collapse, the chain was effectively abandoned and the community was in chaos. Community developers and contributors, including Edward Kim, Zaradar and others associated with Terra Rebels, worked with validators to restore and upgrade the chain. The recovery work included both implementing the community-approved 1.2% burn mechanism and re-enabling delegation and staking. These proposals gave validators, developers and the wider community a common objective at a time when the chain had almost no direction. The burn movement helped reunite the community. It encouraged validators to coordinate upgrades, brought holders back on-chain, restored public attention and helped attract support from major exchanges. Binance later began burning the trading fees generated from its LUNC spot and margin pairs. You can debate whether 1.2% was the ideal rate. You can propose reducing it, changing it or replacing it with a better mechanism. Governance exists precisely for that reason. But rewriting the chain’s history and blaming every current problem on the burn tax is not a serious analysis. Terra Classic does need more on-chain volume. But volume comes from utility, applications, liquidity and opportunities—not merely from reducing a tax and hoping people begin making meaningless transactions. Build something people want to use, and transactions will follow.

After more than four years in the Terra Classic community, I’ve seen everything in between. I support Vegas and I strongly supported the 1.2% burn tax from Day One. If you still think Vegas is a scammer after everything he’s done for Terra Classic over the past four years, then I honestly don’t know what to tell you. I don’t know whether Binance has a “secret plan.” But Binance’s continued support for LUNC and the size of its LUNC holdings are among the main reasons I still believe in this ecosystem today.

This new GPT update is hilarious 😂 Today I used Luna to check my LUNA validator, switched to Terra to fix Terra Classic, then opened GPT Classic to find the old conversation. At this point, I’m not sure whether I’m using AI, running validators, or trapped in the Do Kwon multiverse.

The monitoring dashboard built by #LUNC developers using the #BiNodes open ecosystem API is absolutely stunning. I never imagined the data could be visualized so beautifully! Because of BiNodes' open ecosystem, I'm seeing developers making a rapid comeback. They achieved this by calling just a single API endpoint: api.binodes.com/v1/network/o…
