Pakistan had signaled a willingness to play a mediation role w/Iran. But now that the US has joined the war, Asim Munir’s recent friendly engagement w/Trump, coupled w/Pakistan’s Nobel Peace pitch for Trump, could backfire on Pakistan if it still seeks to play that role.
Thank you @RepAndreCarson
The president can only take war action without Congressional approval if the US is directly under attack from a foreign country, to protect and rescue Americans abroad, safely remove troops, or for peacekeeping missions or humanitarian aid.
President Trump’s actions are unconstitutional — and it’s putting our active duty and reserve troops in danger by getting us into another endless war.
I’m cosponsoring the War Powers Resolution to block any effort to drag the US into a regional war without public debate or accountability.
I’m being briefed on the situation and will continue providing updates to my constituents. That’s the type of transparency the American people deserve.

We condemn President Trump's illegal and unjustified act of war against Iran, which prioritizes the wishes of Benjamin Netanyahu over the American people and threatens to drag our nation into a wider war in the region.
This attack, carried out under pressure from the out-of-control Israeli government, took place despite the longstanding conclusion by U.S. intelligence agencies that Iran was not seeking nuclear weapons.
Just as President Bush started a disastrous war in Iraq pushed by war hawks, neoconservatives, and Israeli leaders like Netanyahu, President Trump has attacked Iran based on the same type of false information put forward by those who consistently seek to drag our nation into unnecessary and catastrophic wars.
We must not engage in any further action against Iran and should end our government’s support for the rogue Israeli government, which seeks to dominate the region through a seemingly unending campaign of death, starvation, ethnic cleansing, and destruction.

Praying for the people of Iran and hoping there is no nuclear fallout from the bombs that struck Iran’s nuclear sites.
Sickened by Trump’s Israel-induced aggression for which the entire region (or world) will pay the price.
Also, Congress did not authorize this war.

Presently the most sensible member of Congress
Everyone is finding out who are real America First/MAGA and who were fake and just said it bc it was popular.
Unfortunately the list of fakes are becoming quite long and exposed themselves quickly.
Anyone slobbering for the U.S. to become fully involved in the Israel/Iran war is not America First/MAGA.
Wishing for murder of innocent people is disgusting.
We are sick and tired of foreign wars. All of them.
And this one will quickly engulf the Middle East, BRICS, and NATO as countries are required to take a side.
Real America First/MAGA wants world peace for all people and doesn’t want our military killed and forever injured physically and mentally.
We love our U.S. military and love them helping to secure our borders and our cities for the defense of OUR PEOPLE AND OUR COUNTRY.
They are our friends, spouses, cousins, nieces, nephews, sisters, brothers, sons, and daughters.
We have spent TRILLIONS in the Middle East and we have dealt with the aftermath of death, blown apart bodies, never ending suicides, and disabling PTSD.
All because they told us propaganda as to why we must sacrifice our own to defend some other country’s borders and some other country’s borders.
I don’t want to see Israel bombed or Iran bombed or Gaza bombed.
I don’t want to see Ukraine bombed or Russia bombed.
And we do NOT want to be involved or required to pay for ANY OF IT!!!
We are $36+ TRILLION in debt and have mountains of our own problems.
We have giant planks sticking out of our own eyes while we complain about splinters in other’s eyes.
Every country involved and all over the world can be happy, successful, and rich if we all work together and seek peace and prosperity.
Taking this position is NOT antisemitic.
It’s rational, sane, and loving toward all people.
Taking this position of peace and prosperity for all is not isolationism, it leads to GREAT trade deals and GREAT economies that help ALL PEOPLE.
It’s what many Americans voted for in 2024.
America First!
America First!!
America First!!!
That is how we Make America Great Again!!!!!

We at PAKPAC, an organization representing the Pakistani American community since 1989, are deeply disturbed by the upcoming visit of the Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir to the USA.
Someone who has been the leader in suppression of democracy, human rights and political imprisonment of his opponents should not be welcomed into our country! We urge @realdonaldtrump and pentagon or any officials to make it clear that US stands for democracy, rule of law and human rights. Those that don’t hold these same values are not welcome . US should not have any relationship with defacto dictators or those that do not value human rights or freedoms granted by society. It is in the best interest of the US to promote democratic values and political freedoms in Pakistan. Suppressing 240 million people will
always lead to disastrous effects.@drjalil247 @DrTariqUS @Arslanshehzd @AsadMalik523 @UzmaDo @sshakeel1317 @UFarooqMD1 @Safdarchaud786
Pakistani Americans reject Gen. Asim Munir’s visit to the U.S. and will be protesting his presence. We will not stay silent as a dictator responsible for civilian oppression and human rights abuses is welcomed. #StandForDemocracy
The protest that is going to take place in DC in support of democracy and human rights this weekend is something we support. PAKPAC, as an organization is regulated by the FEC and therefore cannot participate in foreign political party activities. Participating as an organization is prohibited. However many of our key members, on their individual capacity, will be joining the Pak-American diaspora in their efforts this Saturday.
In fact even my own husband will be joining them. I wish everyone a safe and peaceful protest against those that have tried to suppress democracy/ human rights. I would also love to join in my personal capacity . As you know I am a surgeon and due to my trauma call schedule I may not be able to join. But know we are in this together. We stand with rule of law/ democracy and human rights. Wishing you all safe travels and peaceful protest! @drjalil247 @AsadMalik523 @DrTariqUS @UFarooqMD1 @Safdarchaud786 @sshakeel1317 @HamzaMD04 @SabaShabnam24 @Arslanshehzad

We strongly condemn the Indian government for bombing mosques and civilians in Pakistan. This deliberate targeting of civilians and religious sites, such as mosques, reflects the goals of the fascist, anti-Muslim Hindutva movement embodied by Narendra Modi.
This escalation underscores the dangerous trajectory of Modi’s government, which has increasingly used militarism and aggressive rhetoric rooted in the genocidal anti-Muslim bigotry of Hindutva extremism to justify violent acts and suppress minority populations, including in Kashmir.
We call on the Trump administration to demand that Modi and his radical government deescalate before this unnecessary conflict spirals into further violence. Our nation should also call for an independent investigation into the horrific attack in Pahalgam, and for those actually responsible for that crime to face appropriate accountability.
The rise of violent Hindutva extremism under Modi, as well as India’s ongoing occupation and oppression of Kashmir, threaten peace across the region and even around the world.
We stand in solidarity with Pakistani, Kashmiri and Indian-American communities impacted by the Modi government’s crimes.

Dear @realDonaldTrump and @marcorubio, PAKPAC implores your leadership to push for de-escalation of the India-Pakistan conflict to safeguard lives and regional stability. India’s attacks via Raphael aircraft’s and drones on civilian residences, Mosques, and the Neelum-Jhelum hydropower dam have killed innocent children and women. Its threats to breach the Indus Water Treaty endanger millions, yet no proof links Pakistan to the Pahalgam attacks. We urge you to advocate for restraint, dialogue, and international mediation to restore peace.

Thank you @BradSherman for your fair and thoughtful stance. In difficult moments like these, your call for restraint and de-escalation gives hope to millions in Pakistan who wish only for peace and dialogue — not conflict.
#PahalgamTerroristAttack #IndiaPakistanWar #IndiaPakistan
As Secretary Rubio has urged both #India and #Pakistan, we must avoid armed conflict and escalation.
India has not provided the world with strong evidence that the terrible terrorist attack in Kashmir was the result of actions taken by the Pakistani government.
Let us hope that the Pakistani government does not escalate this crisis and that its response is de-escalatory.

Pakistan deserves leadership that chooses peace over peril. A truly democratic govt would engage India, collaborate on Pahalgam, and seek truth together — not fuel tensions. Dialogue, not war, serves the people best. #IndiaPakistanWar #wewantpeace #FreeImranKhan

PAKPAC strongly condemns India’s grossly irresponsible attacks inside densely populated civilian areas in Pakistan. India has not shown any evidence whatsoever to Pakistan, United States, EU that could link Pakistan with terrorism in Pehalgam, Kashmir. Pakistan repeatedly offered neutral International investigation, and UN Secretary General twice offered mediation. US repeatedly requested for restraint, all has been ignored by Indian PM Narendra Modi endangering peace in South Asia.

Had a nice time meeting with @PAKPAC last night and great conversation about the issues affecting Pakistan.
Let me be clear: Islamophobia is a coward’s weapon. American values — my values — demand that we meet this bigotry with truth, courage, and solidarity 💪🏻
