The relationship between Princess Diana and her younger brother, Earl Spencer, was deeply loving but intensely complex, defined by a fierce childhood bond, periods of adult estrangement, and a lifelong sense of shared trauma. Earl Spencer sued the Daily Mail and he won undisclosed libel damages from the Daily Mail publisher Associated Newspapers over a claim that he acted in an “unbrotherly, heartless and callous way” towards his sister Princess Diana. The above appeared in the Daily Mail newspapers and on the Mail Online website in an article in January 2017 Princess Diana wanted the Garden House but, it was occupied at the time and most importantly posed severe privacy and security threats given Princess Diana's intense media scrutiny. The security and privacy risk was also backed up by the police. Other properties on the wider estate including a substantial property known as Wormleighton Manor. Princess Diana turned down the alternative accommodations provided by her family and decided against staying on the estate. The Daily Mail's publication had caused serious harm to Earl Spencer’s reputation and caused him distress and embarrassment. It's disgusting that Derangers and Royalist like Angela Ripon are repeating such lies on TV programs to try and discredit Earl Spencer.
