This morning, my son asked why his school was closed and his midterm examination postponed.
I told him, because the BRICS Summit is being held in Delhi.
Every school in Delhi has been shut. Govt offices are closed. Roads have been restricted and ordinary life thrown out of gear so visiting dignitaries can move through a carefully sanitised capital without encountering its traffic, chaos or citizens.
Security for international guests is necessary. But paralysing an entire city is not security. It is administrative incompetence dressed up as hospitality.
Why should children across Delhi miss examinations because the govt cannot design targeted traffic and security arrangements? Why must ordinary citizens always pay the price for the system's inability to manage?
Whenever foreign dignitaries arrive, slums are hidden behind curtains, selected roads are beautified and citizens are pushed out of sight. The govt cannot provide Delhi's residents a decent quality of life or value for their taxes, but it can suspend their lives to manufacture a three-day illusion of efficiency.
A capable govt hosts its guests without treating its own citizens as an embarrassment or an inconvenience.
Because they are not following their own path properly- anyone embracing the sect is embracing confinement to seek solace but clearly this isn’t that!
Dear @BAPS - it’s very simple. If you don’t want to be around women stay inside your own Swaminarayan temple. It is nice enough & large enough. Why do you need to visit the Eiffel Tower & ask that women be removed? Don’t embarrass India globally with this lunacy.
Agree agree agree and want to know whether it happens like this in the cities of these other countries when they host these global events??? Something to learn?
What the F happened to France actually - i mean WHY???? would any public monument agree to such ridiculous demand - what the sect preaches and to interpret it correctly would mean confinement of those men in closed spaces & not move & certainly not remove women from anywhere!!!!

Nevertheless, we sincerely apologise for any pain or inconvenience caused.
We believe in the universal values of mutual respect and service.
So it all starts again! BRICS summit - schools are closed, Dronacharya mela - schools are closed, and the air has started becoming bad again so we brace up - this government needs to really get serious about school education system and its functioning!!!!

हल्द्वानी में जिन लोगों ने स्टेज का शुद्धिकरण किया, उन पर Untouchability Act के तहत केस दर्ज हो और उन्हें गिरफ्तार कर जेल भेजा जाएँ।

And there you go - brilliant weather yet school timings remain curtailed - because the DM forgot to issue retract order for changed timings! There is much more to do than issue school orders every morning to disrupt everyday life of citizens!
The Noida DM strikes again - the school timings are changed from 8am-1pm from 8am-3pm. My guess- temperatures at 1pm will be below 30 and at 3pm at 40degrees!!
Whats the use of such thoughtless actions imposed upon schools!!Also when temperatures are expected to cool down
